𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐘𝐀 𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐗𝐈𝐀 𝐍𝐎𝐕𝐈𝐊𝐎𝐕𝐀 (Mаня Новикова) , born 17th November 1967 in Leningrad (now St Petersburg), Russia. Despite being born in what many would call the wrong place at the wrong time, Manya had a joyful childhood living in the outskirts of Leningrad with her father Alexei Novikov, mother Natalia, grandmother Alianova, and younger siblings Anzhelina and Vladimir.
Alexei had a rather dangerous job, being a physicist during the Cold War, but that scarcely deterred his daughter from investing all her time and interest into his profession. One fateful day in 1977, Manya had followed Alexei into work and as he was attempting to convince her to go home safely...
Well, no one was really sure what happened that day. The only thing Manya was aware of was that one minute, she was trying to discover the secrets of the great secret world her father was studying and the next, she was dreaming about flying around as a moth in a hospital room.
It was strange. The only thing Manya could see was the vision through the moth's eyes but it was what she felt that was so extraordinary. She didn't notice it until she willed it so, but she could change the moth's direction herself. She saw it through vague feelings, was almost like the backstage of a theatre, with ropes and strings to pull to make things move, however instead of sandbags and lights, it was muscles and limbs. There was also a quiet cacophony of thoughts buzzing around. She couldn't understand them, they were in a language completely alien to her, but she did notice it.
When Manya awoke in the hospital, she told her worried mother and father about how strange the dream she just had was, how the room from her dream was just like the way it was that very moment.
At first, Alexei hypothesised that it would be an out of body experience and that his daughter had entered the ethereal plane. However, Manya insisted that she was inside a body, simply not hers but a moth's.
The theory sparked up the passionate scientist inside Alexei and so the family started conducting secret experiments around their country house. They were conducted almost every night after Manya came home from the hospital. Alexei and a supervisor, usually Vladimir or Natalia, would bring a jar with a moth or other small insect next to Manya's bed, wait for Manya to go to sleep. If the insect obeyed the commands given to it, they knew it was Manya. Once, Vladimir accidentally killed the moth before Manya had left its body, resulting in Manya shooting awake as if having woken from a horrific nightmare. Over time, Manya discovered more parts of the little theatre inside the minds of every creature she possessed. As she honed her powers more and more, she became capable of controlling more moving on to larger and larger animals, possessing animals while awake and even possessing humans.
