You parked your car outside your house. Leaning back in the seat, you closed your eyes, taking a deep breath. During these three weeks, you talked with all the prosecutors and none of them agreed to help you. No matter how much evidence you have that Kim Taehyung is to blame, there really was no one in this city who would fear him more than the possibility of losing their job. You hit the steering wheel in anger... Kim Taehyung... There are no untouchable people, wait, and I will find your weak point, you growled before getting out of the car

You went to the door and stopped. "You are probably kidding me!" you whispered under your breath when you felt the same perfume that was in your office after Kim Taehyung's visit. You took a deep breath, trying to calm yourself. Composure is the only way to defeat this man, you thought as you opened the door. You walked down the dark corridor, listening to every sound in the house. You walked past the dining table and went into the kitchen to turn on the dim lights. You took out your gun and placed it on the table, before going to the counter next to the sink.

"Do you prefer tea or coffee, Kim Taehyung-nim?" you asked calmly, still standing with your back to the living room.

"Hmm, I'm even somehow disappointed by the lack of any surprise at my presence in your house." He chuckled from a dark corner of the room.

"If you want to surprise someone, then you should refuse the perfume you use. It's like putting a sign on the door to signal your presence. I don't even know whether it is negligence or incompetence" you tried to sound cold as you took the cups out of the cupboard.

It took all of your composure not to flinch when, a moment later, Kim Taehyung showed up behind you, resting his hands on the countertop on either side of you.

He grabbed your wrist, squeezing it tightly, preventing even an attempt to rip your hand out of his grasp. He closed his eyes, resting his chin on your shoulder. After a few seconds, he let go of your wrist, returning his hand to the countertop. "That's enough," he whispered in a low voice, removing his head from your shoulder. "It's enough for me that I make your heartbeat faster," he repeated, slightly louder than a whisper, inhaling the scent of your hair.

This was the last straw of your patience. You grabbed the knife and thrust it with all your strength into the countertop, between Taehyung's fingers. He abruptly took a step back, glaring at you as you turned to him. "Really the best graduate of the Police Academy," he said, laughing. "Better clarity than a sniper," he said, looking at the slight cut on his finger.

"What are you talking about ... I missed," you answered, crossing your arms over your chest. He grinned, closing his eyes. Taking a deep breath, he opened his eyes. When you met his gaze, you realized that there was a completely different person in front of you. In his gaze, there was nothing but pure lust and savagery, from which your skin was covered with goosebumps. He lifted his hand and without taking his eyes off you, ran the tip of his tongue over his finger, licking a few drops of blood that came out of the cut.

"It's hard for me to restrain myself when you're flirting with me so openly," he said in a low voice, sending heat through your entire body. "Can a detective attack defenseless citizen?" His gaze and voice returned to the fun it was before.

"I'm sorry to upset you, but this will be seen as self-defense. The mafia boss broke into the detective's house," you shrugged. "Anyway, tea or coffee?" You asked, turning back to the countertop.

"At your discretion," he replied, leaning against the wall next to you.

"In that case, it's a shame that you don't have time to stay for coffee, Kim Taehyung-nim!" you said, pointing in the direction of the exit with the sweetest smile you could possibly have.

"How cruel" he laughed. He took a step forward, practically pressing his body against you, he reached out, and you were ready to push him away, but instead of hugging you, he grabbed the knife that was sticking out of the countertop, taking it out with a sharp movement. "I'll leave it to myself as a souvenir of tonight," he said, twirling the knife in front of your face. He bent down to your face, but you did not back down, not wanting to lose to him in his game, whatever it was. You could feel the warmth of his skin on your face. Your jaw tightened as it got so close that it almost touched your lips. He chuckled as he stepped back. "I don't think I can hold back myself next time"

"I hope I shouldn't check the house for hidden cameras or bugs after you leave?" You asked, ignoring his words.

He smiled broadly at you, "I wouldn't have stooped that low," he replied, "When I'll be wanted to see you all the time, I'll just move here." He winked at you before he turned around and left your house.

You exhaled while sitting down on the floor after hearing the door knock. You closed your eyes, taking a deep breath. And again, before you were his gaze, which made your hands tremble.

"And what the fuck that was?" you whispered, staring at the floor.
