Peace. The word that carries the pain and weight of the world, the heartache, and yet the love that so many of us crave yet never speak up so that we may recieve it. It is the opposite of the one thing we can not seem to rid ourselves of...fear. Such a simple answer. One that will always be the answer behind pain. We are afraid of who we are, who we have the ability to become, and who we will give power over us. That fear that paralyzes the senses and makes everything dim.
When I say peace, I am not refering to world peace because no one will ever be happy with everyone and we must accept that and simply tolerate eachother. I speak of peace with yourself and family and friends. Peace to forgive enemies so that the thought of them doesn't torture you. Peace to give thanks for each day and show compassion and mercy for those less fortunate.
Peace to be yourself without pushing yourself onto others. Peace to love and care.
Peace to hope that the virtues of our ancestors are not forever dead.
Peace for a brighter future for all.
