Through all of the years you had waited until your eventual return, they had not compared to the moment you stepped through the gate with the others at your side.
Above, the night sky was dotted with a myriad of stars, each glowing with a different intensity, albeit you didn't have much longer to admire the darkened heavens aloft before a not so intimidating voice broke you out of it.
''Hey! You're not supposed to be here! Team Eclipse has taken over, so scram!'' A guy standing just a bit to the left shouted. He seemed to be trying really hard to scare all four of you, yet his rather ineffective tactics phased none of you.
''He's one of those hooligans.'' Jake sighed with a hint of annoyance. The grunt narrowed his eyes as an offended expression appeared on his face.
''Who are you callin' hooligan?!" His voice practically raised to a roar, pointedly glaring at Jake. ''Team Eclipse is here on official business. I can't be lettin' all of you past this point. You need to turn around and go back.''
''Why, what are you crooks up to this time?" Jake questioned, lifting an eyebrow.
''That's none of your business.'' The grunt answered with a scowl.
"Knowing Team Eclipse, it can't be good, right?" Jake briefly turned to the group, mainly focusing on you as he lowered his voice to a whisper. ''We need to find out what's going on.''
In the corner of your eyes, Tess' own eyes widened, her gaze darting to something outside of your vision.
''I'll battle this goon to keep him busy, you go find out what their plans are.'' Jake finished, before taking a few steps back as he then threw a Pokéball forward. Tess grabbed your arm and pulled you away as Broze followed, the tall girl picking up her pace.
"They're here for the orb!'' She whispered, close enough for you to hear. ''Oh, I should've known better than to leave him behind!''
Despite your now racing heartbeat, you tried to remain focused. ''Tess, what's important now is that we get to the lighthouse. There's no time to waste. Okay?'' You urged her. She nodded, a determined expression replacing the worried one.
''Uh, do you mind telling me what's going on? Besides the obvious?" Broze asked out of nowhere. He wasn't given an answer as both of you began hurrying to the lighthouse, dragging the unfortunate boy along.
''There's so many grunts!'' Tess stared ahead. Grimacing, you squint to count the number of grunts ahead. There's at least eight that you can see, which is certainly double the amount in Mt. Igneus. It's safe to say they're a step up stronger, too.
''Wait, wait- if the person that sent this message lives around here, wouldn't they be able to deal with this instead? I mean, you talked about a dad- or two-'' Broze began to say.
''That would be Silas.'' You interjected. ''He doesn't have Pokemon of his own, for personal reasons, and Marius is out at work.'' Wherever he worked, that is. You hadn't been able to catch up on current events concerning your close family, so Marius' job remained a mystery.
