she didn't expect to be able to stay with him, as much as she wanted too, she knew. the capitol is never fair when it comes to the games.

aralia sat by herself in a small office. she found herself staring out the window, watching as all of the children who were lucky enough to not have been reaped ran to find their families. she watched the young ones be pulled into hugs by their siblings. she watched the oldest ones as they cried tears of joy knowing that none of them had been picked in their last year being eligible.

she watched the parents of the children. the mothers, the fathers. she watched as they cared about their children.
