It was a beautiful morning. The sun had risen and it was warm. The perfect climate. I tied my hair up as I stepped down the step of the RV towards the other people in camp. I didn't have a chance to slip away last night. After we all stayed up talking I was taken to the RV by Dale and given a sofa to crash on. I appreciated the gesture, but it wasn't what I wanted. I didn't want to be here. "They're still a little damp. The sun'll have 'em dry in no time." Carol handed Rick his cops uniform. "You washed my clothes?" He asked in disbelief. "Well, best we could. Scrubbing on a washboard ain't half as good as my old maytag back home." She joked. Rick was very appreciative. "That's very kind. Thank you." I noticed Glenn stood by the very nice car he picked up in Atlanta. He didn't look happy. I went to see what was going on, and if there was anything I could do to help. I wanted to pitch in while I was with them, even if it was only temporary. Dale was tearing apart the spare parts of the car.

"Look at 'em. Vultures." He said to me. Yeah, go on, strip it clean." I couldn't help but smile. Boys and their toys. "Generators need every drop of fuel they can get. Got no power without it. Sorry, Glenn." To be fair it was a beautiful car. "Thought I'd get to drive it at least a few more days." He sulked "Maybe we'll get to steal another one someday." Rick teased.

I wandered down further into camp and Shane pulled up in his truck. "Water's here, y'all. Just a reminder to boil before use." All that water was a sight for sore eyes. I didn't have to worry about dehydration. I accidentally walked into a conversation between Rick and Lori that didn't sound good. I carried on, but I heard the latter part. "Are you asking me or telling me?" Lori spat. Rick sighed. "Asking." The couple looked at me as I went passed them. "Well, I think it's crazy. I think it is just the stupidest way to break your son.." A child started screaming. I set off running in the direction. "Mom!" Carl called for her. She shouted his name. Everyone starts to race after me, weapons in hand. "Dad! Carl shouted, he sounded terrified. Lori called out for him once again. I heard Sophia. "Mama! Mommy!" I was first to reach the children. "Are you both okay?" I began inspecting them for bites and scratch. "Turn around." I looked and their necks. "You're fine. No bites, no scratches. You're okay." The 2 terrified children threw their arms around me.

"Carl! Baby!" Lori came bursting through the trees. He set off in her direction. "Mom!" Sophia clung on to me. Her arms around my waist. I stroked her hair. "You're okay sweetheart, you're safe with me." Rick finally made it and asked if he was okay. "I've got him. I've got him. Nothing bit you? Nothing scratched you?" She began frantically searching him. "Both kids are okay, I've already checked." I walked over with Sophia holding my hand, and Lori wrapped her arms around me. "Thank you. Thank you Abigail." The rest of group came across a Walker that was busy eating the carcass of a deer.

Andrea and Amy wandered too close to have a look at the disgusting creature, and the second it noticed them, it turned it's attention on them. Rick, Shane, Glenn, Jim, and Morales start to beat on it with their various different tools and weapons. Dale finishes it off by chopping its head off with an axe. He looked in shock. This is clearly the first one they'd seen in a while. They deteriorated fast and decomposed quickly, the stench was awful and it's rotten flesh was hanging off. I was about to remind them to stab it in the head as I didn't have any of my weapons on me, but Dale beat me to talking. "It's the first one we've had up here. They never come this far up the mountain." These things wandered, it's what they did always on the hunt for food, just like us humans I suppose.

"Well, they're running out of food in the city, that's what." Jim said. He was definitely not wrong, there wasn't many people left down there. My head snapped round to the sound of a branch snapping followed by footsteps. A man emerged from the tree line, and he did not seem happy. "Oh, Jesus." Dale muttered. I felt the tension building. I had a sneaky suspicion this was the other Dixon brother. He looked at his game on the floor. "Son of a bitch. That's my deer! Look at it. All gnawed on by this... filthy, disease-bearing, motherless poxy bastard! Yep, he was definitely Merle's brother. He began kicking the carcass of the walker over and over "Calm down, son. That's not helping." Dale began to talk, but Daryl was having none of it. "What do you know about it, old man? Why don't you take that stupid hat and go back to 'on golden pond." There was poison laced in his voice. He was ready to eat that deer. "I've been tracking this deer for miles. Gonna drag it back to camp, cook us up some venison. What do you think? Do you think we can cut around this chewed up part right here?"
