Chapter 6: Night at the Church

You and Eda were having a drink inside the Rip-off Church.

Eda: "You ever think about changing out of those fancy clothes? It's nice to wear something else every once in a while."

"These are just the clothes that I'm comfortable with."

Eda: "Alright."

The room stayed silent for a minute before you spoke:

"You're part of the CIA, aren't you?"

Eda calmly closed her eyes.

Eda: "Yes. How did you figure that out?"

"An old client mentioned an 'Edith Blackwater' stationed in Roanapur. And one of my targets had a picture of a woman with a striking resemblance to you."

Eda: "They took that without my permission? Bastards."

"So that's pretty much how I figured out who you are."

Eda: "Impressive. By the way, how did you become an assassin?"

"I was enrolled in an academy after middle school. They taught us the art of death and we chose our methods on how to do it."

Eda: "There never seems to be enough assassins in this world."

"You said it."

Eda: "How old are you?"

"I'm 28," you said as you finished your drink.

Eda: "You're pretty handsome for a guy who's 28."

"You're flirting with me."

Eda: "Maybe."

"Well. I think you're very beautiful, despite your temper."

Eda: "You think I'm bad? You should see Revy outside of missions. She's all act first and ask questions later."

"I do not doubt that. What's your history with her?"

Eda: "Sometimes we're drinking buddies and sometimes we work to hunt the same target."

"Sounds like you two are on good terms."

Eda: "We're alright. Hey, are you heading back soon?"

"Yeah. Lewis says there's something he wants to talk to me about."

Eda: "(groan) You tell that informant that he better pay his debt otherwise we'll shoot him dead."

"I will," you chuckled as you walked outside the church and toward your motorcycle.

Eda: "Hey."

You turned around and Eda kissed you.

Eda: "Take care."

You pulled Eda into another kiss.

"You too."

You hopped on your motorcycle and drove away from the church.
