Boarding School Nightmare

I've always been called a troubled kid. No wonder my mom shipped me here. While she lives happily in at home in Brooklyn, I'm stuck here at Pen-Dales School for the 'Mentally Disturbed' all the way in Montana. I miss everything back in Brooklyn, the only thing I have is my best friend Ava.

This school is like a prison. All schools I've been to have been prisons, but this one is horrible. It's run by this old ass lady (who should've definitely retired like 40 years ago) named Mrs. Stevens. She's like if Mrs. Trunchbull from Matilda and Umbridge from Harry Potter had a forbidden love child. That's Mrs. Stevens. I swear she has always had some kind of problem with me. She's not just the principal, she's also the only English teacher in the entire school!                                                                         Which is absolutely ridiculous!

No matter the assignment, no matter how good of a job I do on what she assigns. I always somehow fail! And every time, she blames it on my dyslexia and the fact that "you can't read".

I can read! I just get distracted! I daydream a lot, but it's not like I never pay attention....

She has a problem with me and I have a problem with her.

Now the only thing that makes this school bearable! My best friend, Ava Lischént. She got to Pen-Dales like a year or so after I got enrolled. I had my own dorm by myself and at first I was not thrilled to share the dorm. I like my dorm, its at the end of the hallway and pretty separate from the others. So I don't have to deal with the other idiots at this school!

Ava is like you're typical sweet girl. Beautiful smile, beautiful personality, she's just the best. She always tries to make sure almost everyone is included, gives people her food if they don't have any, she's the total opposite of Mrs. Stevens. Love her to death, the absolute best.

I don't really understand how she ended up here at Pen-Dales? She doesn't talk about why she ended up here, I don't wanna push her about it and I never have. She'll tell me when she's ready to. At least she's in all my classes.

I tried to sit in the back of room in every class I have. It keeps people off my back and I don't get called on as much. The only scary part is when I do get called on for anything and everyone's head snaps to me and just stare. Kinda like today! Just sitting in science when good old Mrs. Stevens came on the intercom.

"Could I please have Samuel Alexander to the office please, Samuel Alexander to the office."

Shit.
