Y/N'S POV
I feel Taylor's fingers brush my back as she rubs it gently. I look up at her and she smiles. I cuddle closer to her, loving being so close. "You can keep the shirt," she says. I grin as tears well up and fill my eyes. "What's wrong?" she asks, voice full of immediate concern; as she wipes my tear.
I pause for a moment. "You're my best friend," I tell her. There's a gentle smile adorning her lips.
(She is in love.)
I kiss her softly and she responds, whispering, "I just got a song idea."
"Yeah?" I hum. She nods.
"I'm so in love with you," she says, a dreamy and desperate edge hidden underneath her words. It makes my breath catch in my throat.
"I'm so in love with you," I respond, feeling my heart flutter. "What's the song?" My curiosity is piqued, and I've always been inclined towards Taylor's creativity, especially music-wise.
"It's about us. I'm gonna call it, you are in love," she says, cheeks stretching out that are accompanied by smile-lines.
"I can't wait to hear it," I laugh giddily, excited by the idea of having a song that is completely ours." She giggles alongside me, toying around with my hair. There's an affectionate warmth glittering in her eyes as she stares at me, and I can feel the corner of my lips raise.
She leaves a gentle peck on my lips, then nose, before pulling away and tracing my cheekbone. "Hey, baby, do you think you wanna go for a walk on the beach?" she suggests.
"Oh? Perfect timing, babe, it's almost sunrise." A small giggle passes through her lips, a small nod. "Well.. can we stay for a bit after the sunrise?" I ask.
"Anything for you, my love."
BEACH.
I'm pulled up from under the water and instantly met with a deep kiss. I let out a muffled moan, responding eagerly. I can feel Taylor's lips stretch into a kiss.
"Your lips taste like salt water," she pants after pulling away—only slightly; I can feel her breath fan over my mouth.
I run my tongue over my wet lips, chasing for any remnants of Taylor. "So do yours," I mumble, nuzzling her neck, and she snorts.
"Nooo, don't leave any marks, Tree will kill me," she groans, tugging me back when I softly suck and bite at her soft skin.
My bottom lip juts out in a pout. "Please?" I whine with puppy eyes.
"You attack my neck like a vampire." She rolls her eyes, but I can see a slight smirk painted over her very-kissable lips.
"Don't pretend you don't love when my marks are all over you," I husk out. I can see her eyes dilate and turn darker, a slight huff parting from her lips. I return to the sweetspot on her neck, satisfied from the whimpers I earn.
TIMESKIP
The soft material of the towel digs into my back, both of our feet sticky with sand.
"I can't wait 'til you're mine," Taylor breaks the silence, her voice blending in with the sound of waves crashing into each other.
"I am yours," I chuckle out.
"I mean, like.. I mean marriage," she murmurs, hints of nerves hiding behind her words. She fidgets around with my fingers, playing with them—a habit when she's anxious.
I'm sure my heart just skipped at least thirteen beats—my breath has turned shaky and I can't even think properly anymore. All I know is that my lips have stretched so wide that they hurt. "*Marriage*?" I ask.
She nods, fingers traveling onto my palm until our hands are tightly linked together. "I want to marry you," she says, almost reverently, eyes locking onto mine—they're fearful but I can see a million constellations in her blue, radiating warmth and *love*.
"I want to marry you, too," I breathe out.
"I'm—" she pauses, voice cracking as she runs her tongue over her lips, "I'm so glad you said that." She fumbles around for something in her bag, and just as it clicks into realization, Taylor has pulled out a small box, cradling it in her trembling hands.
"Taylor—"
"I genuinely can't wait any longer," she interrupts. "I was going to.. um, wait until tonight. I had it all planned, but—but my heart is beating so fast with you around me, this is all I can think about. I have to do this." Her teeth are repeatedly singing into her bottom lip, but her chest rises with a deep breath as she opens up the box.
It's an enchantment of mesmerizing *diamonds*. The most beautiful ring lies on the finest silk. It glistens even in the dim shade, illuminating everything in sight. I can't look away, even as my eyes begin to water with the threat of streaming down my cheeks.

"*Oh.*. I—oh, *wow*."
"Y/N.. From the moment I met you, I *knew*. It's like I saw eighty years into the future, just from first glance. It was the perfect vision of you and me, together in our beach house and watching our grandchildren playing by the ocean." She forces another deep breath, tears brimming in her eyes as she gazes at me, lips quivering. "I saw it all. My heart did at least a million flips the moment I looked into your eyes. And.. well, here we are, four years later. It just so happens to be six years ago from this day, that I met the love of my life."
"Fuck, I can't stop crying," I laugh through the tears.
"It's okay, beautiful." The pad of her thumb gently wipes away my tears, leaving a kiss above my eyebrow.
"*Yes*," I instantly exclaim, sniffling as my grin widens even further, wanting nothing more than to be Taylor's wife.
"I'm not done," she whines. I roll my eyes at her dramatic demeanor and stay silent, waiting for her to continue—hoping it'll be soon, so I can kiss her endlessly.
Taylor clears her throat theatrically, before dropping the act, staring at me—her sapphire eyes look so sweet that I'm sure they're full of saccharine—and beginning to finally talk again. "I cherish every moment I have with you, and look forward to the moments that will come. Every hug and kiss, even if it's quick—I couldn't be more grateful for that. When you get mad at me for leaving my stuff on the bathroom counter. You look so fucking adorable when you try to act angry, even though you relax in the end." The both of us chuckle and she reaches to tightly hold my hand, caressing my knuckles.
"That's another thing I love. You keep your ground but you're not afraid to give in over something small, just to make me happy. I notice it a lot, baby, and when you do it I always try to return it. I love our dynamic with arguments, compromise—everything in general. We work so well together and I've become such a better person because of you," she says. Her voice is shaky throughout, and breaks at the end, the tears streaming down her cheeks only framing her face further. She continues on with a wobbly voice.
"I love when you get marinara on your chin because of spaghetti. I love *everything* that comes with being with you. I love our walks on the beach. I love the ferris wheel rides and it's something I wanna do forever. And it's something I wanna do with, maybe, a kid. Or two, or three." She finally stops, taking a few short breaths. I assume she's finished with the speech, and give her a quick peck on the lips. She laughs breathily into me and presses her lips firmly against mine before pulling back, untucking her legs.
"So I have a very important question to ask you," she says through a muffled cry, getting down on both of her knees before adjusting her position, one leg jutting out while the other lays on our towel. It's an awkward position but it only adds onto the charm of the moment. It's perfect—all of it, everything is so *perfect*. "Will you, Y/N L/N, make me the happiest woman alive and marry me?" Taylor asks. "Yes! Yes I will!" I say kissing her deeply.
You are in love... True love.
