The morning of the accident
As Jacob and i walk hand in hand into our local Java Jones i notice that there are ballons taped to the door and a sign that reads "Its been too long but im home now." When i read the signs a part of my heart breaks because my Dad who enrolled into the army three years ago hasnt been home since. As when step inside the first thing i notice is that my mother and some close friends and family are gathered inside but i dont think anything of it because its not unusual for them to meet here on a Saturday. But the second thing makes me sob and start running deeper inside the coffee shop. I see my dad standing there with his arms open and everyone else's face either hold happy tears or extreme smiles. My face is drenched in tears and im sobing by the time i jump into my dads arms for the first in years and im one hundred percent sire nothing else could feel better. We stay at the coffee shop until it closes catching up, hugging, and making up for lost time. At the end we are all going home i notice Jacob is nowhere to be found and hasn been around for hours. I walk up to my mom and ask,
"Mom have you seen Jacob?"
"No sweetie i havent seen him since you guys walked in. Sorry honey but you might want to find to thank him."
"Thank him for what?"
"He put together this. All of this was his idea. He said he wanted to suprise you and make this day something you would never forget. He booked this coffee place because he knew this was the last place you saw your dad and wanted it to be the first place you saw him when he came back. You know that Jacob loves you more than i thought a highschool love was possible and im so happy you found eachother. Im so happy you guys are more than a highschool couple. It makes me proud to know that you two truly love eachother."
Buzz buzz
I quickly answer my phone.
"Hello?"
"Ccccllloe" Jackie, Jacobs little sister sobs.
"Jackie what's wrong?"
"He was in an accident."
I dont have to ask who "he" is because i know its Jacob.
"What hospital is he in?"
"JFK . Chloe please hurry."With that she hung up the phone and one of the best days of my life turned into the worst.
