Hello! My name is Red, obviously because l am red. Don't be frightened! I am a nice monster! I just want friends. Yes, I am just a lonely monster who want friends.

I like socks. Yes I love socks! Maybe my friend will like socks too. I have blue eyes, maybe my friend will have blue eyes too.

I want friends to like me, not eat me! One time a green... oh sorry mother.. she just said it is too scary for me to tell you. We need to listen to our mothers, or else they may take away our
cookies!

Did I mention I love cookies? Yum! I hope my friend will like cookies too. My mother makes yummy chocolate chip cookies with milk. When I make a friend, we will sit down, eat cookies, and drink milk, hooray!

It is almost dinner time and my mother is making taco salad. My mother is the best cook; my father, not so much... I hope my friend likes dinner too! Maybe they will like my mom's cooking better too!

"Dinner Time!", my mother shouted from downstairs. l jumped in joy. Taco salad time!! I ran downstairs. "Walk", my father warned.
My father always likes to warn me to walk when I forget to walk on the stairs so I don't fall. I hope my father will remind my friend too so they won't get hurt.

It smells so good! l am so starving! Before I could sit down and eat my mom stopped me. "Did you wash your hands?" Ugh worst part of the day: Washing hands before meals.

l groaned "fine I will go". I went to the bathroom, washing my hands and singing a song: "Happy Birthday". I can't wait to be adult. I bet my friend can't wait to be adult neither. Freedom is sweet! I dried my hands then went to eat dinner.

I saw a moving truck moved in our neighborhood in our window. "Who is that?" I asked to my parents. They looked up. "Must be our new neighbor", said dad.

I saw a green monster kid with three arms and one eye; same age as me.
Maybe they will be my friend!
"Mom! Dad! Can I meet them? Please? Please?" I begged. "You can but bed time at 9pm" said mom. Bed time at 9pm sucks. My parents said I need enough hours sleep, blah blah, whatever it means. I bet my new friend sleeps at 9pm too.

I grabbed my jacket and opened the door. I waved hi to the green monster. They waved back.

"My name is Red, what's yours?"
"Todd"
"Nice to meet you"
"You too, are you looking for friend?"
Todd is looking for a friend too!
"Yes! Do you like socks?"
"Love them!"

"Look at you Red, you made a friend already. Want come over to have cookies and milk?" asked my mother at the door. "So can you?" I asked Todd.
Todd's parent nodded in approval.
"Yay!!!" cheered the kids.

Todd has blue eyes, bed time at 9 pm, loves socks and cookies; their father cooks, instead of their mother. They hate to wash hands too, never
tried taco salad before.
I made a friend!!!
