My mother opened the door and two human figures were standing at the door. One was a tall man who had broad shoulders and bright green eyes. That was Kazumi's father, Zachary. The other was a little boy that was barely up to the father's arm. He had completely black hair and light purple eyes, which had always amazed me - that was Kazumi. There was a moment of awkward silence before my mother waved and spoke. "Hey, Zachary!" My father, being pretty defensive of my mother quickly walked over beside her. "Zachary.." My father looked at Zachary with a look of disgust. He had always displayed some amount of hatred towards that man. "Obaka..." Kazumi's father spoke, shifting uneasily. As the three adults chat, I squeezed my way between my mother and father and stumbled in front of Kazumi. "Hey Kazumi!" I spoke as I wrapped my arms around him, tugging him into a hug. I heard Kazumi giggle as he leaned back to look down at me. "Hello, Hanako! Do you want to go to the river agai-" As soon as he said river I nodded eagerly. "Of course!" After that, I turned my head towards our parents and waved. "We are gonna head to the river, we'll be back by dinner!" My mother looked at the two of us, sighing softly. "Alright, just try and stay out of trouble though!" She exclaimed as we turned and sprinted down the hill that lead up to our house. Kazumi and I ran for a almost 10 minutes before we came to a stop beside the river. I had my hands on my knees and was gasping for air a little bit. That had been a bit of a long run, even for me.

The silence between them was broken by Kazumi. "Ooh! You got a new scarf! It's very pretty, I like it.." Kazumi complimented Hanako, this was a way of starting a conversation, at least one of the ways his mother had taught him. I glanced aside, my cheeks turning a little pink. I rose one of my hands up and curled my finger tips around the soft red fabric of the scarf. "Thank you, Kazumi.. My mother made some for me and I was surprised by them this morning." I spoke as I took the scarf off and folded it up, placing it on the ground. I picked up a rock and put it on top of the scarf so the wind wouldn't take it away. Kazumi and I wadded into the water, waist deep. We then flung ourselves forward. I swam in a circle so I would get used to the waters temperature and Kazumi simply dived under water and swam back up. Once Kazumi resurfaced, I surprised him by extending my arms forward quickly, sending a wave of water over him. I giggled to myself, looking up at him before diving under water so he couldn't react in time. I swam a bit underneath the water and made a turn so I'd swim up behind Kazumi. Once I was close enough I resurfaced behind Kazumi and exclaimed. "BOO!" Kazumi squealed before turning around and swimming after me. After a few moments Kazumi managed to grab my ankle. I was pulled back and he held me close for a moment. "I got ya!~" Both of us laughed until this laughter was interrupted by the current picking up. I screeched in horror as I fell out of Kazumi's grasp and slipped under the water, the current dragging her away. I held my breath as I looked up, listening to Kazumi's crys of fear. I flailed my arms around until I finally resurfaced, extending my arm towards Kazumi. He grabbed my hand and hauled me to land. Once we got there, I gasped for air before looking up. Citizens were running for the same part of the city. "Hey.. What was that?" Kazumi and I spoke at the same time as I snatched my scarf out from underneath the rock, tying it around my neck.

"Let's go check it out!" I ran ahead of Kazumi, heading towards the center of the city. Kazumi followed close behind. "H-hey, wait up!" I heard Kazumi stutter, but I didn't stop. My curiosity was basically controlling me at the moment. I stopped running once I got to the center of the city, my pupils dilating at the sight I saw. My eyes locked on the wall as I saw a giant skinless hand on the wall, digging it's fingers into the wall breaking it like it was nothing. When Kazumi caught up with a burst of speed, he finally caught up to me and exclaimed. "Hanako, what the h-" I cupped one of my hands over his mouth to silence him and rose up my other hand, pointing at the hand on the wall. Kazumi slowly turned his head in the direction I was pointing at and a gasp of horror escaped him. He began to stutter, as if he was trying to say something but couldn't. "T-t-t-t-t....." I couldn't help him say it. I was too focused on the thought of losing my parents to this monstrous creature, known as a titan. I finally brought myself to speak, my voice cracking as tears welled up at the bottom of my eyes. "W-wait.. mom... and dad.. and your dad!" Driven by anger and fear, I sprinted forward along the street. As the colossal looked down upon the city, I continued running, not even acknowledging that I could possibly die from this. That was when part of the wall shattered at the colossal titans foot. A huge gust of wind swept over the city in response, debris from houses torn down flying over the city, along with chunks of the wall.

That was when Chaos began.
