Meanwhile, in Raj's room: (🔞)

Tina sat on the bed, her face veiled by her dupatta, waiting nervously for Raj. Minutes turned into hours, but there was no sign of him. As exhaustion set in, she was just about to lie down when the door swung open with a loud thud. Raj stood in the doorway, a bottle gripped in his hand, his eyes unfocused.

Slowly, Tina removed her dupatta, her heart sinking. "You're drinking on our wedding night?" she asked, her voice a mix of disbelief and hurt.

Raj staggered toward her, his steps uneven. "Or what?" he slurred. "What else do you want me to do?"

"Raj, stop it! Lower your voice, everyone will hear," she whispered urgently, rushing to close the door behind him. Panic welled up in her chest as she shut the door, trying to maintain some semblance of dignity in the chaos.

But as soon as the door clicked shut, Raj's gaze landed on her, tears now streaming down his face. He stepped closer, grabbing her waist, pulling her toward him with a force that made her breath catch. His grip was tight, desperate. The bottle slipped from his hand and crashed onto the floor, shards of glass scattering at their feet.

"Raj..." Tina started, her heart swelling with conflicting emotions—relief that he finally held her, but it didn't last.

Her hands gripping his arms as he swayed dangerously, about to fall. In the rush to steady him, Raj leaned into her, and she lost her balance. As they both stumbled, Tina's foot landed on the shattered glass bottle he had dropped earlier. She winced but said nothing, biting her lip to muffle the pain.

Blood seeped from the wound, staining the white of her wedding dress.

He didn't even notice the glass cutting into her foot as he gazed at her with glazed, tear-filled eyes. "Mishti," he whispered, the name cutting through Tina like a knife. His voice trembled, and without a second thought, he pulled her close, wrapping his arms around her waist tightly, his breath reeking of alcohol.

Tina's hands trembled as they rested on his shoulders, her lips parting in shock. She tried to catch her breath, but all that came out was a weak.

"Mishti," he murmured again, this time pressing his lips against her neck. Tina froze. The name he whispered was not hers. The tenderness in his touch wasn't for her.

"I knew you'd come back to me... I knew it," Raj's voice broke as he spoke, the desperation palpable. He tugged her towards the bed. Tina felt the jagged pieces of glass twist in her foot as she limped beside him, but her mind was consumed by something else—the undeniable truth of his words.

He's not with me, Tina thought bitterly, he's with her.

"Raj... be careful..." she whispered.

Raj leaned against her, his breath heavy with the stench of alcohol. He murmured something incoherent, his lips brushing her hair, but it wasn't her name he whispered. "Mishti... don't leave me," he muttered again, his voice breaking.
