what shinji would later learn, is that yui ikari, the soul of EVA unit-01, had other plans for her child, and so with agreement and aid from nirvash, they had not only constructed a new world, but used shinji's dimension as a base, second impact would take on a whole new meaning, a better meaning, second impact would be the start of a new future

this would change the course of history, shinji would still be drafted to pilot unit-01, but that would be for a different reason entirely for unit-01 itself, would be different, only he would ever be able to master the EVA, the most powerful weapon humanity has ever created

of course with the advent of this new world things would begin to leak from shinji's vaults into the hands of those that could make use of it, transforming the new world into something truly marvelous, mars and luna would be colonized thanks to the vaults shinji had constructed, war would also be changed irrevocably, becoming so dangerous that war is essentially outlawed by the entire human populace to be replaced by the vanguard trials, these are special trials that only the inquisitors can participate in

but that is a story for later

for now our story begins with one shinji ikari, that had just been called to tokyo three, to partake in the activation test, of the newly constructed TYPE-NEF001: ADRIEL, the basis for the entire EVA program

shinji himself was a completely different individual still abandoned as a child by his father, shinji himself was an extremely calculated individual, always armed

"you worry too much" shinji's magius 'delta' said

magius were highly advanced support AI, most inquisitors had one those that didn't had somehow lost theirs and refused replacement for one reason or another

"thank you, delta, i wonder if the old man is still a huge douche bag, after the mother's death, then again he was probably a douche bag before it" i said, annoyed

"master shinji, it would seem our escort is late, by ten minutes at least" the voice of shinji's steward amane fuuma said

"thank you amane, i am really starting to regret coming to this damn city, with the annual angel trials coming up i need to be training, and i need to find a wyvern of my own" i said mostly to myself, amane having served shinji for over a year knew this and kept her mouth closed, shinji was the head of the newly formed ishikawa-clan it was a clan that would claim unaffiliated taimanin, and they would serve him and his needs, he was an incredibly rich individual which he got through his own work and merit putting what money he could scrap together into the various new paramilitary groups and companies which paid him back in dividends

the blue car eventually pulled up

"your shinji ikari" she asked i scoffed

"i am shinji ishikawa, head of the ishikawa-clan, this is my steward amane ishikawa" i said, the woman looked towards amane and her eyes widened

"taimanin" she muttered

"that is correct, and i will do everything in my power to protect my lord" amane said expressionlessly, this was her job after all, misato nodded

"well get in, i'm misato katsuragi by the way" she said, we did so, amane sitting in the back me sitting up front

"excited to see your father" misato asked trying to break the tense atmosphere, i snorted

"hell no, i hate the bastard, i'm only here out of morbid curiosity, i need to get back to kyoto as soon as possible, i have training to do, though if i can put a nice large hole into his head, it will have been all worth it" i said, misato frowned at that, looking at the boy in question with his longcoat, he could very well be armed

arriving at NERV, she smiled

"welcome to NERV premiere paramilitary organization in the world" she said, i shrugged, as we entered and promptly got lost

"master shinji that is the fifth consecutive time we have passed that door" amane said

"katsuragi" i said

"call me misato, and look i haven't fully figured this base out yet, i've only been here for a few months" misato said, i rolled my eyes as a blond walked up to us

"lost again misato" she said, a chuckle in her voice

"it's not funny, ritsuko, this base is a maze i swear it" misato said, ritsuko just shook her head and gestured for the group to follow her, we did so, until we were led into a hanger

"this is why you were called here, this project was started with you in mind, the evangelion series TYPE-ES01: ADRIEL" ritsuko said proudly as i looked up at the behemoth

"weapons" i asked, she pulled out a file handing it to me

"the full specifications of the aerial and your teammates and their units" ritsuko said

"your putting a team together" i said, she nodded

"i'm out then, i have already sworn myself to a team already, if they aren't with me i won't fight" i said

"you were very much intending to participate in the trials" ritsuko pointed out, she paid attention to the new and the up and coming seraphim team

"i have a unit of my own already, built exactly to my specifications, since i didn't even know this thing was built, i am sure it hasn't been tweaked to my preferences whatsoever" i said bluntly as i handed her the file

"and i refuse to work with that spoiled brat, soryu" i said

"so you did look at the file" ritsuko said

"i took a glance, you had a team of three, the tournament allows for a team of five units, but i as i said refuse to work with the spoiled brat, she isn't the only one who lost her good parent and her bad parent abandoning her, she needs to grow up" i said, as i walked away amane following, gendo ikari had silently watched the scene but he was frowning, his wife's last request was for her son, to use this unit in the tournament, but he is now leaving having refused, that was a problem
