KENNEDY
Having Frosty Dream closed for a private event meant more money for Archer but a lot more work for us. Sure there was a boost in pay for us too but I'd pick a normal day anytime over dealing with snotty rich kids all day and that's coming from someone who is the dictionary definition of a rich kid. But in my defense I am not snotty.
"Okay dreamers, we have a full day today so I expect your full cooperation and for you to be on your A-game." Archer instructs as he looks over the work we've been doing all morning.
Last night we had to stay over late decorating and this morning we had to come in early to finish up before the party. It's a Frozen themed party for a five-year-old girl. I met her yesterday and she is adorable, her mother on the other hand reminds me of my own, high-maintenance and hard to please. If I didn't like Archer so much I would have called in sick today.
Hosting a Frozen themed party is a pretty neat idea so kudos to the mom for coming up with this plan. I'd be much more excited if we didn't have to take care of every single thing from the decorations, to the food and the actual service.
It's going to be a long day.
"Do we still get the day off tomorrow?" Cove asks.
"Yes you do. After today you will all have earned it." Archer assures us.
I resist the urge to punch the air in victory at his announcement.
"But for now let's get through today." Archer demands clapping his hands like a drill sergeant to get us back to work.
I realize that we are short of napkins so I head out back to the store room to get some more. I find Isaiah in there rummaging through some plastic bins. I wrap my arms around his waist since his back is turned to me and lay my head on his back.
"Berry, you okay?" He asks stopping what he's doing to hold my hands.
"Yeah just exhausted and looking forward to this day being over." I answer.
Isaiah turns around and cups my face in his hands kissing me softly. "I'm tired too but we are here, together, and that's good enough for me to get through this."
"I'm glad you're here too but you'll clock out early and leave all the cleaning up to Cove and I." I remind him with a sad pout.
"Not today. I'll be here till closing." He informs me.
"What about your shift at The Mayfair?" I inquire trying to reign in my excitement.
"All taken care of." He reassures me.
His words make me so happy I can't help but launch myself at him to kiss him again. Isaiah holds me tightly and deepens the kiss. His addictive lips are as soft as ever and the feeling of his strong arms on me has me barely holding on to rational thought.
Before things can get more heated, the door opens forcing us to jump apart. Thankfully it's just Cove who immediately starts teasing us by making exaggerated kissing noises. Archer is cool with Isaiah and I dating but we don't want to get caught by him making out when we should be working.
"Okay love birds, time to get back to work. Our guests have already started arriving." Cove informs us.
"We'll be right there." Isaiah says keeping a firm hold on my waist.
"Don't keep me waiting too long." She demands as she grabs extra plates before walking out.
I turn to Isaiah with a smile. "We should get back out there."
"And we will, but first..." He trails off only for his lips to recapture mine for another kiss picking up from where we left off before Cove walked in on us.
