Prologue
The sound of a war horn exploded in the distance announcing the return of our army, the noise of marching men could be hard from the borders of Eldasar, I looked through my open window gazing down from the high tower looking into the kingdom, in the traders market the people had stopped there quarrels of who gets the highest bid, people had come out of their homes, children had stopped playing in the middle of the gardens of Eldasar looking down the road that lead to the main gates. Everyone’s gaze was on the gates the kingdom was quite awaiting to welcome there men home, women had eagerly moved to the front of the road anxiously looking at the gates wondering whether they had lost their husbands in the battle.
The iron gates were slowly released the guards moved the chains holding them, they agonizingly moved out of the way, they slammed against the ground echoing throughout. The archway above the gates casted a shadow beneath it hiding the army from the awaiting eyes, we heard hooves move away from the archway a beautiful white beast of a horse stepped forward stopping so that the people got see the rider.
General Marcus Dean Phoenix the brutal heartless monster that killed men like animals, he had been in over a hundred battles and conquered them all, he was the most feared man in the world and no one would ever think of crossing him. For being a heartless barbarian he was the most handsomest man in the entire kingdom, he had the tallest frame with a build that was breath taking his face was chiselled as if it had been carved from the finest craftsmen in the world, his eyes were a piercing grey always looking stormy, contrasting hair that was a deep brown almost black it waved down reaching just above his neck. One thing about General Phoenix he never wore armour he would have his sword strapped to his waste while his shield rested in his arm he looked deadly.
He heaved of his horse landing on the ground I could just about make out his figure from my window, he grabbed the straps of his horse moving forward down the road that lead to the castle, as the General stepped into the kingdom his men followed behind and that’s when the people of Eldasar exploded. Rejoicing to see their men had come home with victory wives, mothers, sisters, sons, and grandparents ran towards them meeting their beloved.
I heard a faint knock at my door it creaked open; I turned from the window looking at the maid who curtseyed to me,
“Your majesty, the King waits for your presence in the main hall” she bowed again leaving the room; it was time for me to greet the great General on his victory for the first time in my life I would meet General Phoenix. I missed one fact about the General he wasn’t just a cold hearted barbarian; he was a shape shifting wolf that had not yet found his mate as she had not confronted him. What would be the reaction of General Phoenix as I Princess Leonora Angelo Josephs meets her mate for the first time?
