The sky gradually shifted into the evening, and the early-season chill of Mount Miaofeng truly made people shiver. On this mountain, everyone now had their own heater, a fireplace. The biting cold made everyone hesitant to go outside.
At this moment, on the slope, a group of four people was searching for reference materials for their Pedagogy thesis. These four girls were all students at the National University in City B, majoring in Language and Pedagogy. Among them, Jisoo and Lisa were majoring in Language Pedagogy, researching for their thesis on highland tourism. Jennie on the other hand was an English Language student exploring education in the highland region. Rosé the protagonist was studying both Language and Pedagogy, managing tasks similar to her friends. All four girls were happily exploring together, with phones and electronic pens in hand for note-taking. However, Rosé had an additional notebook due to managing both majors.
The winter on the mountain brought a mix of fear and excitement for the four girls. Rosé being more reserved than her friends, found solace in these mountains whenever she felt down, using a couple of days to calm herself and escape the hustle and bustle of urban life. When here, she often visited classes to teach writing or a few English words to the local children. It seemed like she had become a familiar guest in this mountainous region, where the tranquility and constant cold throughout the year resonated with her. Due to her introverted and somewhat cold personality, she always felt out of place in the bustling city life. Hence, she gradually grew fond of the cloudy sky over the bright sunlight.
Because she frequently visited the area, Rosé had chosen a simple house in the mountains. Her friends could stay here whenever they accompanied her. Feeling harmonious with nature and the climate, Thai Anh secretly wished she could stay here forever.
However, on this particular evening, her friends chose to go sightseeing at the tourist area, leaving Thai Anh alone for the night.
- Rosé's Point of View -
The evening was quiet, with no one around. So, I had a simple meal, just a warm bowl of porridge, and then reviewed what I had gathered during the day. When I was about to turn off the lights and go to bed, I suddenly heard a noise outside the door. Being alone in an unfamiliar place at night, it frightened me, prompting me to call the Border Guard for help. After hanging up, I heard continuous knocking on the door, accompanied by a voice saying, "Please save me." Realizing that the situation might not be good, I cautiously walked towards the door, holding a security stick, and opened it.
I carefully opened the door. When I pulled it open, I was shocked by the scene before me. There was a man covered in blood lying on the ground. Seeing this, fear ran through me as I approached him gently, calling out:
Sir, sir, are you okay?
Hearing my voice, the man struggled to open his eyes and whispered:
Quickly, save me.
Panicking and unsure of what to do, as I rarely dealt with such situations, the injured man managed to get up and said:
Don't be afraid, I won't harm you. Quickly bring me inside; otherwise, I won't last. After saying that, the man slowly closed his eyes. I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself, then helped him inside. After laying him on the bed, I quickly went back to close the door.
