She had grown accustomed to her life now. Spending day after day in the dayroom or in her cell. She had been a patient in Arkham Asylum for nearly a month now. Apparently killing your father was unacceptable in today's world, even if he was a violent alcoholic.
They had her on a lot of medication, the days seemed to come and go quickly, if she blinked, she'd miss it. She hadn't made any friends; she hadn't tried to. She sat in the corner of the dayroom, her corner, looking out of the barred window down on the 'normals' as she called them going about their days.
Today was the same as any other in her mind. The patients made their noises, danced around methodically, the odd fight occurring here and there. They left her alone usually.
The sounds of locks opening and chains dragging occurred to her, growing closer and closer. They were getting a new patient today. She could already tell from his manic laughter – he was going to be a handful.
