A soft ray of sunlight streamed through the curtains. gently rousing Alessia from her slumber in Theo's room. The warmth of the bed and the comforting presence beside her made leaving it a challenge, but the promise of breakfast and another day at Hogwarts beckoned. After freshening up, Alessia and Theo made their way to the Great Hall, the aroma of a hearty breakfast guiding them. The atmosphere was festive; it was the last day before the Christmas break, and the anticipation of the holiday was palpable. Seated at their usual spot, they joined their friends, laughter and hatter filling the air as they shared plans for the upcoming break and exchanged small gifts. The golden glow of the Great Hall, combined with the joyous ambiance, created a moment of respite amidst the challenges they had faced.
As the meal concluded, Alessia and Theo gathered their belongings, making their way to the dungeons for their potions class. Upon entering the dimly lit Potions classroom, Alessia and Theo took their usual seats, the cool air of the dungeons sending a shiver down their spines. Professor Thorne, with his large belly and gleaming bald head, greeted them with a hearty smile.
''Ah, my young potion masters! Today, we shall delve into the intricacies of the Draught of Peace.'' He announced, drawing a collective murmur of interest from the students.
Thorne began the lesson by explaining the properties and uses of the Draught of Pace, emphasizing its calming effects and the importance of its precise brewing process. He demonstrated the correct method of crushing the sopophorous bean and the importance of allowing the infusion to shimmer at just the right temperature.
Turning to the class, Thorne posed a question, "Can anyone tell me the significance of the moon phase during the brewing of this potion?"
Alessia, recalling her studies, tentatively raised her hand. "The potion is most potent when brewed under a waxing moon, Professor."
"Correct, Alessia!" Thorne exclaimed, his eyes twinkling with approval.
As the lesson progressed, the students paired up to brew their own Draught of Peace, the room filled with gentle hum of whispered instructions and the soft clinking of glass vials. Alesia and Theo worked seamlessly together, Theo carefully monitoring the temperature while Alessia added the ingredients with precision. As they watched their potion turn the perfect shade of turquoise, a sense of accomplishment filled the air. As the lesson drew to a close, Professor Thorne praised the class for their efforts, reminding them to store their potions safely. With a wave of his hand, the students began packing up and heading out the door.
Walking through the echoing hallways of Hogwarts, the chatter of students filling the air, Theo turned to Alessia with a playful smirk, "So what did you think of today's potion? Think our Draught of Peace will bring us some tranquility amidst the holiday chaos?''
Alessia laughed, her eyes sparkling with amusement. ''Well, if it doesn't at least we'll have a decent potion to drown our sorrows in.''
Their laughter echoed through the corridor, a fleeting moment of levity in the midst of their studies. As they approached the Great Hall, the enchanting sight of the Christmas decorations greeted them, the towering tree adorned with shimmering ornaments and the enchanted ceiling mimicking a starlit sky. Stepping into the hall, the tantalizing aroma of a festive feast filled the air, the long tables laden with holiday delights. Finding an empty spot amongst the sea of students, Theo and Alessia settled down.
As Theo and Alessia began to eat, they savored the traditional Christmas fare laid out before them. Succulent roast meats, golden roasted potatoes, and a plethora of festive desserts adorned their plates, each bite a tantalizing blend of flavors that spoke of holiday traditions and shared memories. The Great Hall buzzed with conversation and laughter, the joyous atmosphere infectious as students reveled their festive spirit. As the last crumbs were cleared away and the echoes of laughter filled the air, Dumbledore rose from his seat, his commanding presence silencing the hall.
''Dear students," he began, his voice carrying a warmth and wisdom that endeared him to all. "In the spirit of he holiday season, I am pleased to announce that this afternoon classes are canceled.''
A cheer erupted from the students, the news met with applause and excited chatter as plans for the unexpected free time were quickly hatched.
Theo turned to Alessia, a mischievous glint in his eyes. ''So, what do you say we take advantage of this rare break? Care for a snowy stroll around the grounds, or perhaps a friendly snowball fight?"
Alessia grinned, her eyes sparkling with excitement. ''You're on. But be warned, I've been practicing my aim."
Hearing the pair's conversation, Draco's signature smirk appeared on his face as he approached. ''Mind if I join in on the snowy festivities?" he asked with a playful tone.
Theo chuckled, "The more the merrier!" he replied, glancing at Alessia, who smiled in agreement.
Soon enough, Enzo, Mattheo, and Blaise caught wind of the plan and joined the group, their excitement palpable as they made their way outside. The Hogwarts grounds were transformed into a winter wonderland, the pristine snow beckoning them to unleash their playful spirit. The snowball fight commenced with gusto, laughter filling the air as friends turned into playful adversaries, ducking and weaving amidst the flurry snowballs. Teams formed and reformed, alliances shifting as the friendly competition heated up. Amidst the chaos, Theo seized a moment pulling Alessia aside with a mischievous grin. With a swift move, he scooped her up into his arms, twirling her around before placing a tender kiss on her lips, their laughter mingling in the crisp winter air. Not to be outdone, Draco and Blaise teamed up, their strategic prowess evident as they launched a coordinated attack, only yo be met with retaliatory volleys from Mattheo and Enzo. As the afternoon wore on, the snowball fight began to wind down, the friends collapsing onto the snow covered ground, breathless and flushed with the exhilaration of the game. The laughter and camaraderie continued as the group made their way back to the castle, cheeks flushed from the cold and spirits high from the afternoon's adventure. As they reached the familiar corridors of the Slytherin dorms, talk turned to the impeding Christmas break and the excitement of returning home.
In the dormitory, the room was hive of activity as luggage was pulled out and filled with essentials for the holiday. Amidst the whirl of packing, Astoria, Pansy and Alessia found themselves gathered together, the allure of a girl talk too tempting to resist. With the room filled with the rustling of clothes and the soft glow of enchanted candles casting a warm ambiance, the trio delved into conversations that ranged from holiday plans to the latest gossip. When their suitcases were full, everyone jumped into bed, craving rest.
