The group was still hanging by the club's entrance and no one around seemed incredibly fazed by the massive celebrity casually standing with a bunch of friends. They could see some people sneakily taking some photos of Lando, but no one was approaching him for autographs.
"Are we going in soon? I'm thirsty." Marta said with a wink.
"We are waiting for Lando's guest of honour. His helicopter landed about 30 minutes ago, so he's just running late..."
"Thanks mate..." Lando chuckled at the sight of his friend sounding like his secretary.
Camila was freaking out. She couldn't believe Lando Norris was right there, and they were about to hit the party scene together. She hadn't mustered up the courage to say a single word to him yet. Plus, it seemed like he wasn't all that into her, which was kind of a bummer for Camila.
She glanced into the club, and it was already bustling from where she stood. Squinting to adjust to the lights, she could've sworn it was Martin Garrix gearing up for a set. It was surreal. In her wildest dreams, she never imagined this would be unfolding. Right then, it hit Camila that she was being silly, wasting time overthinking everything.
"Hey Lando..." Camila blurted out a bit louder than planned, then halted herself, letting out a louder gasp as she saw the tall man approaching.
"Hey, you seem like you know your Formula 1 guys," Lando said with a grin as he greeted his friend with a laid-back hug.
"It's like a McLaren dream..." Camila replied, her mouth still slightly agape.
"Who's this one?" Isabel whispered in her friend's ear.
"Oscar Piastri. They are teammates." Camila tried to explain quickly and as discreetly as possible.
"Fucking hell, this night keeps getting better and better!" Marta exclaimed overhearing her friend's conversation.
"Sorry, we are a little starstruck." Camila admitted with a shy smile.
"Ok, everyone this is Oscar... you might have heard of him. Oscar this is everyone... now let's get in, Martin is waiting already."
Oscar wasn't much of a talker; he just gave a slight wave to the group.
The bouncers made way for the group of boys, but they hesitated a bit about letting the three girls in without paying. A slightly awkward moment ensued until Lando turned back, and with just a nod, the bouncers ended the peculiar standoff, allowing the girls to enter.
"So, you are crazy rich and they let you in for free anyway? What a crazy world!" Marta said as she followed the group.
They strolled over to the DJ booth in the club's middle and then veered a bit to their right, reaching the VIP seats where chilled bottles of champagne and other spirits awaited them. On the red velvet sofa sat some girls who looked like professional models, exchanging hugs upon meeting.
The three newcomers watched the women on the sofa and suddenly felt very aware that they probably didn't fit in there. They didn't even have to get any closer to sense that these women exuded an air of affluence.
"I'll grab us a round of drinks!" Camila hollered to her friends, suddenly feeling awkward about being there.
Turning around, clutching her sparkly Shein bag, she tried to locate the bar. Unfamiliar with the venue's layout, she had no idea where anything was or how to leave the VIP area. Spotting a bartender, she decided to take a shortcut by lifting one of the velvet ropes on a stanchion and just walking out from there.
"What's going on?" one of Lando's friends shouted in her direction.
"Just grabbing a drink!" she hollered back.
