So, where does Summer's story begin?
She was sent from London, England to Shorehaven, Australia by her rich, snobby mother, to live with the Gibson family, who she pretty much grew up with for the first couple years of her life. Why was she sent there? Well her mother had tried everything to keep her stubborn firecracker of a daughter in line while she was away for business, but nothing worked. Every time she was given the opportunity, Summer would skip school, go to parties, throw her own parties, ruin the house, stay out all night. Her mother eventually found out when she returned home early to see a fire engine parked outside of their house, after Summer accidentally set their back garden fence on fire..
As soon as the firefighters put out the fire, her mom was immediately on the phone to Abbie, practically begging Ari's parents to rid her of Summer.
Of course, they agreed, they had always loved Summer and treated her as their own, and in a way she was. She was Ari's younger sister. But that was before Summer changed, started acting out. The reason for the sudden flip? Summer started to realise how little she meant to her mother after she had decided to disappear on her, for almost an entire month, no contact at all! When she was only 14..
So before Summer knew it she was on the plane, heading back to Shorehaven for the first time in 11 long years. She had told herself that this was a good thing and she believed it for a while, until the reality finally hit her in the face. Her mother didn't care about her, she was leaving all of her friends behind, she didn't know when or if she was ever going home again and she was about to be living with four pretty much strangers!
But, thankfully, it actually wasn't all that bad. Yes she did try many times to escape and get on a plane back to England, but something, or maybe some people, always seemed to get in her way.
Summer soon settled nicely into Ari's group of friends, she would constantly watch them surf and compete, and eventually they taught her a few things. Summer would get up every morning at the crack of dawn to surf, she had finally found her passion..
As for her mother, she sent one envelope a month, filled with two stacks of money, one for Summer and the other for the Gibson's as a way to say thanks.
She has a great home with the Gibson's and in a way they've almost accepted the way Summer is, and her sometimes obnoxious personality. But she's not all that bad, I mean, she taught Honey to skateboard, kind of..
Now, nationals are coming up and after winning a fair few previous competitions she's feeling pretty confident about trials. She's blossomed into a pretty amazing surfer, with help of her friends and Manu.
That was until, her injury. She had been hanging out with all of the others at the pool, everyone was eating but Summer was stood at the pool, but not for long. Wren came rushing up behind her shoving her into the pool. But it was the shallow end, her foot hit the bottom of the pool..
She had to walk in a boot for a week and now nationals are still undecided in whether they will let her compete or not..
