Mirabel looked around her room, it was so homey. It was decorated with soft yellows, and dark greens. It had brown hints there too and she was so happy. There was another door inside her room, and once she opened it, it opened to a meadow. The grass was fresh and green, and there were patches of wildflowers spread throughout. There was a stream, and a willow tree in the center of the meadow. The meadow was filled with butterflies of all colors, and it was filled with the soft scent of a spring storm. She felt so calm in here that she never wanted to leave. Sadly, she knew she had too. She exited her meadow, and entered into her bedroom. She smiled again at the furnishings, and color choices, before sitting carefully on her bed. She breathed in deeply, and exhaled slowly. Afterwards she decided she was ready, she stood up and opened her door. She exited her room quietly, and made her way up to the roof. No one noticed her presence, as everyone was far too busy bickering. She made it to her destination, and grabbed the candle from Alma's window. She carefully lowered herself to the ground, and smiled at the candle. She could feel a spirit within it, a spirit that felt familiar, her Abuelo. It made sense why it took her so long to get a gift, why her family had to choose her for it to happen, her Abuelo wanted her family to be strong and happy. She would make sure they would be from now on, no matter how hard she had to try. Mirabel carefully whispered to the candle, "Dolores should be able to choose when she wants to hear everything. Mama Pepa, should be able to feel and still be in control of the weather. Camilo, should be able to control his shifting, even when he is having strong emotions, and he definitely should not have such a fast metabolism. Tio Bruno should not be in pain from having visions, nor should they randomly attack him. The cold side of the family should be able to relax a little, and perhaps their gifts could be mellowed for a while? So far Antonio doesn't have anything wrong with his gift, and I thank you for that. Thank you Abuelo." With that the magic began to make the changes, and Mirabel walked right back into the lions den.
