Y/n's pov

I was in a club located in the Gangnam. The atmosphere was intense with the strong scent of alcohol lingering in the air. Loud and wild music played in the background, and people were dancing as if there was no tomorrow. More than 150 people had gathered to celebrate the arrival of 2024. The alcohol flowed freely, and it seemed like everyone was having a great time.

This New Year party was hosted by my cousin's brother Lee Jeno. He is the same age as me. My aunt and Jeno's mother Song Hye-ri got married to Lee Dong-chan, he owns the top law firm in the country named 'Justice'.

I was waiting for Jaehyun at the bar table drinking my second shot of tequila but an irritating voice reached my ears I could smell the fakeness in his laughter.

"I didn't know you were coming tonight, my dear niece. What a pleasant surprise!" greeted the 30-year-old man. It was Song Minho, my mother's younger brother. He was the youngest sibling of my mother, and as you can already guess, my relationship with my uncle was not so good.

"I thought the same, my not-so-dear uncle. What an unpleasant surprise seeing you here. I thought you'd be busy playing around with chicks like you always do," I rolled my eyes. The hate was so loud in my voice. I'm not good at faking my emotions for someone, especially not for this man.

" You don't have any manner how to talk with your elders, do you " I appreciate he still managed to smile through his anger.

" What a shame, but I can't go back and be a sperm and tell my parents to rush things so I can be reborn older enough so your old ass won't t get offended by my manners " I passed a humorless smile to an already fuming man.

" You little b--- " he lost his shit on the extreme insult.
" Watch how you finish that sentence, uncle" I cut his sentence and took another drink From the tablet. I don't accept disrespect from people I don't like. He just left with a couple of ladies to entertain his dick, a typical playboy.
This evening can't get worse, another drink was about to go down my throat when a hand took it away from me.

" Don't punish your liver because of some noteworthy dork, love "A 6-foot-tall figure appeared in front of my eyes with his dimpled smile and dark brown eyes. I smiled back at him. It was my fiance Jung Jaehyun. He is a neurosurgeon at the best hospital in the country owned by his parents. 3 years older than me.

The question is do I love him? Not!
Why? Because I don't believe in love! Again why? I have my reasons it's a long story!
Then the question is why I'm pretending this all? It's because my mom likes him and I'd rather die than break my mom's heart so here I am, trying to work things out in our relationship we both known each other for the last 15 years, he has a great personality, and his looks give a plus point.
" You know that bitch annoys me af " I simply said "This much amount of alcohol won't harm me " I took my drink back from his hand and finished it in one shot.

" This will work better than your drinks, love " he wrapped his hands around my waist and his lips touched mine, those sweet smooth lips tasted like peaches but instead of giving me pleasure they made me suffocate Still I managed to kiss him back and he deepens the kiss as I responded to them, the alcohol I consumed a minute ago sloshed in my stomach, I back off, I felt guilty for doing this.

" Don't tell me you are giving your patience this treatment instead of medicine " I narrowed my eyes jokingly wrapping my arms around his neck.
" Well, I'm still young I don't want to get killed by your mom, love. Besides this is a special treatment I provide only to my special patient and there is no one more special than you" I hate cheesy things like this but he said what he said

" I think I need to use the restroom I'll be back " I excused myself from the situation

After returning from the washroom, I received a text message from Jaehyun. He informed me that he had to go back to the hospital due to an emergency case. As usual, he was always busy with work just like me, but the only difference was that his work saved lives while mine took them. I headed back to the counter.

"Have this one, ma'am," Haechan, my secretary, handed me a glass. He was one of the few people I trusted.

"I hope I'm not having a hangover on the first day of 2024," I said as I finished the drink. The taste was different, and my vision became blurry.

"You'll get a pleasant surprise in the new year, ma'am. Thank me later," Haechan said. I couldn't see clearly, but the evilness in his words was a warning of betrayal.

"What are you doing? I know you mixed something in her drink," someone said. I couldn't hear properly, but these words echoed in my ears before I passed out...
