ahyeon's pov
"good afternoon passengers. this is the pre-boarding announcement for flight 89B to incheon international airport."
ahyeon was seconds away from starting a new path in her life. having lived in jeju island the past 22 years of her life, moving to the inland of korea, seoul in particular, was quite a bold move for her.
it was a perfect opportunity. her brother doyoon and his friend hajun had finally gotten scouted to join the seoul basketball team, and as for ahyeon, she was also determined to move to the inland for more content and accessibility for her youtube channel. she had gone to seoul just about every other weekend, so it was honestly just a matter of time.
what put the cherry on top was the fact that her friend dahyeon had also found a perfect job in seoul working as a freelance makeup artist. so the four were thrilled to start a new page of their lives.
the only thing that was pulling the girl back was him.
okay, obviously her parents and the family tangerine farm back in jeju were also a factor, but him.
the chances of coming face to face were low, especially because of how different they now lived, but even when she visited seoul for working reasons, she had been holding in her breath.

the siblings, dahyeon, and hajun had landed just an hour and a half later. the smell of the salty tangerine air and the sound of crashing waves were now replaced with burning fuel, cars honking and buildings after buildings.
"hey guys, could i ask you all a favor?" dahyeon asked on the four's way to their first destination ; the girls' apartment. the boys' apartment was only across the street, but as they were soon going to be admitted into the basketball dorms, there was no need to unpack asap.
"as long as it isn't a favor like last time." ahyeon replied, striking the girl with raised eyebrows and a chuckle.
"okay okay i apologized like twenty times!" dahyeon couldn't help but laugh.
"you made us wear a haenyeo uniform and scuba dive for your content! anyways, what's the favor?" hajun asked letting out a low chuckling.
"honestly it's more of a surprise than a favor! okay, so you know the entertainment company i'm working with this year? well there was a notice that came up looking for any pro basketball players around the district to appear in some content the idol members were filming. and i thought it would be perfect if you guys wanted to make a grand appearance for the new team. i may or may not have already mentioned your names...." dahyeon went on.
but just the mention of the word idol gave ahyeon chills and put her in a train of thought . even doyoon eyebrows hooded, both obviously thinking of the same thing. him.
"...and for ahyeon, they were also looking for some visual editors, apparently the original editor just went on maternity leave. if you're down, we could all finally work together!" dahyeon continued babbling in a cheerful tone.
hajun thought it was 'the' chance that they couldn't let go of. doyoon was slowly letting his guards down, it couldn't be him right? out of all the idols in korea? he thought while looking down at ahyeon as if he was sending some kind of telepathy to her.
her and idols? especially boy groups. didn't work out. ever since then, she's done everything to get the word, and everything related with it out of her system. and that's really big of an effort to someone whose job is a youtuber attending so many shows and events. it was the way her subscribers found out she only interacted with girl groups that made her even more conscious.
now that she thought about it, she hadn't really heard where dahyeon would be working. only hearing that it was in no doubt any other makeup artist's dream job. this made her more anxious. she could obviously say no in a heartbeat, but she knew her brother. she knew doyoon would give up this opportunity for her if it has anything to do with him.
"....you probably don't know them honestly, you didn't even know seventeen??? but from what i've heard they're pretty popular where i'm working. here, it says it in the notice...
