“Hyung, please… let’s go home” Jimin said, pouting with teary eyes.

Jungkook’s heart clenched painfully at the sight. His baby looked so small, so fragile trembling like a frightened kitten. He almost wanted to cry himself seeing Jimin act this adorably scared.

Today was Jimin’s first day of college. And God, he was hella nervous. He’d never gone to school before never been allowed to. But now, finally, he had the chance to study, to chase his dreams, to learn.

Only… he was terrified. Terrified of meeting new people. Terrified that no one would like him. Terrified that someone might hurt him. He knew he could never protect himself, and that fear clung tightly to him.

They were sitting inside the car, parked right in front of the college gates. And Jimin  in his soft pastel sweater and round glasses wasn’t ready to move even an inch.

“Jimin, baby… you’re a brave boy, right?” Jungkook asked gently, trying to soothe him.

Jimin sniffled, his voice small. “No, I’m not…”

Jungkook’s lips curved into a small smile. “Come on, I know you are, baby. You’re very strong. You can do it.”

“But, hyung… I’m scared,” Jimin whispered, and a single tear slipped down his cheek.

“Baby… shhh.” Jungkook reached out, wiping his tears with his thumb. “Don’t cry, it’s okay. Look, baby, I don’t want to force you to do anything. But you have to learn  you have to gain knowledge, hmm? That’s how you’ll reach your goals, right?”

Jimin pouted, nodding slightly.

“So be a good boy and go, Jimin. I know you can do it,” Jungkook said softly.

“But hyung… what if no one likes me, and they say—”

Jimin didn’t finish the sentence. Jungkook leaned forward and kissed him, silencing his fears. The kiss was soft and warm lasting only a minute but enough to melt Jimin’s worries away. When Jungkook pulled back, their foreheads rested together.

“Jimin, my baby… nothing like that will happen,” Jungkook whispered, brushing his thumb along Jimin’s cheek. “You’re such a sweet, kind boy. Everyone will like you. Don’t be scared, okay? Go, baby.” He kissed Jimin’s forehead, then his soft cheeks.

Jimin blinked up at him, eyes still glassy. “After class… will you spend time with me?” he asked shyly.

Jungkook chuckled, his heart melting at the innocence in that question.

“Of course, baby. I’ll spend the whole evening with you,” he promised, caressing Jimin’s cheek. “Now be a good boy and go.”

Jimin nodded.

Jungkook got out of the car, walked around to open the passenger door, and helped Jimin out. He hugged him tightly, rubbing gentle circles on his back. “It’s okay, you’ll be fine, baby. Alright?”
