the legacy of the glenn

CHAPTER 1

shinji spent six years surviving aboard the adrift U.S.S.-GLENN, he spent a good four years learning the ins and outs of starfleet technology through the computer, and another two years getting the ship, flyable again, now the ship was in black alert, shinji would be making the first spore jump of this ships new life

in the middle of his jump he was rocketed a few hundred years into the future rescuing the  NX-76884 U.S.S.-PROTOSTAR, which somehow survived it's own self-destruction, the training hologram was utterly destroyed but, other that the ship was relatively still intact, he put a tractor beam on the vessel and had the glenn make it's second jump

what shinji didn't expect was to run into an adrift evangelion unit-01, after making the jump, but bringing the EVA aboard he had learned that it was a unit-01, from a different timeline one that ended in third impact not being prevented, he sighed, as he pulled the EVA aboard, he was sure he could fix everything with the EVA but first he would recover as much as he could from NERV while the world was abandoned

and so he turned the ship towards earth and jumped it to warp, it didn't take him long to arrive, he beamed down

he salvaged the entire MAGI system which was still very much intact, he would be connecting the system to the glenn's spore drive, he also recovered the data for the ayanami series, figuring it may be useful later, once he ransacked the base of it's two most valuable components placing them safely in the glenn's cargobay, he activated unit-01

and was pulled into it's core

"how is this possible, my son is within instrumentality, and yet you are also my son" a voice said

"i'm from a different dimension" i said, her eyebrow raised

"they weren't affected by this world's impact" she asked, i shook my head

"if they were, it was too late, our impact event started during the tenth angel battle" i said, her eyes widened

"gendo must of not been pleased" she said

"it simply slowed him down i'm sure" i said, she nodded

"why are you here" she asked

"i spent the last six years in solitude, so i've had time to think, humanity should not be forced into this plan they should be given the choice" i said

"are you saying you want to give them the opportunity to leave" she asked i nodded

"yes" i said, she eyed me

"very well, i shall aid you, only because you are still my son" she said, i nodded, and so unit-01, activated in full, as it reopened the gate, to allow any to leave

"most will choose life, you know this" yui said

"humanity is a glutton for punishment" i said as i willed unit-01 to release everyone, and yui could feel she was being released as well, leaving the EVA empty and nonfunctional, i beamed it into another of the glenn's cargo bays, and initiated another spore jump

after that i started to move from dimension to dimension collecting technologies, and in some cases ships, i collected an andromeda-class battleship that had it's bridge destroyed, it was one of the automated models but that was fine for shinji since, he really just wanted the weapons, he also collected a subjugator-class heavy cruiser which was heavily damaged but shinji was getting good at fixing things by that point, and an imperial-II-class star destroyer which was mostly empty and undergoing maintenance the few remaining crew aboard, were transported off, and then the glenn had tractor beams the ship out of dock, he had collected a damaged izumo-class vessel from ORB that had been abandoned, and a couple of M1 astrays for good measure

in fact shinji slowly started to gather a very large smattering of weapons, but when he had gotten his hands on the sacred gear, true longinus, everything had changed and his horizons had been broaded rapidly, using what he was learning about magic in it's variants he began work on the alternate unit-01, as he took to calling it, this project would be a start of everything

but when he was dealing with ISDA who seemed to think he was a dragon, when he learned why his work became all the more important as he learned he had become an angel, an exceedingly powerful, one he intended to transfer his own S2 engine into unit-01, with the hopes to get the EVA to safely activate

he recruited two dragons while there, garnet McClaine and widow, it is with their help that shinji was able to bond with a dragon pal from a different universe they also helped him raise the dragon to maestro level, shinji lost his pal in a battle however he kept the ability to call upon his ark, surprisingly, this ability was later passed to his EVA

shinji eventually found himself a home, placing his small fleet into space dock

the world he had chosen was plagued with attacked by giant blue monsters, so humanity was too occupied to worry about him, he had found an abandoned mine, which he excavated using he had transformed the mine into a base for his own use, where his work on the EVA continued
