After accepting Luffy's request to join the Straw Hat Pirates, Yamato must now say goodbye to her friends and make preparations to set off for the new world. Little does she know, this small change in history also changes the fate of the Strawhat Pirates, and some are more dire than others.

(I apologize for the delay of this chapter, I struggled with how it would start. I still hope you enjoy it!!!)

"Yamato, I want you to join my crew!!!"

Those words echoed throughout the lands of Wano. Yamato stood in shock as Luffy looked down at her with a confident smile. To hear those words come out of his mouth was nothing short of a surprise. She looked at the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates to see that they, too, were smiling at her. Whether this decision was unanimous or just his, it was clear that Luffy wanted her to join them. With a big smile on her face, in a voice that echoed as loudly as Luffy's, she shouted, "Straw Hat Luffy, I would gladly join you and your crew in your expedition for the One Piece!!!" With that, Luffy pulled her aboard with an even bigger smile, where everyone greeted her. Usopp was already trying to tell her one of his many tall tales while Sanji tried to get her to eat one of the dishes he had prepared. The others were more subtle with their greetings, Chopper reminding her that he was the crew's doctor and Franky informing her that he had made a special room to suit her needs, though he had to do a lot of re-adjusting to make sure it didn't affect the ship in any way. Brook joined the fray, mentioning that he was a musician and, in a classical Brook fashion, requested to see her undergarments. But before she could decline, Nami stormed over and struck him on the head with her fist before scolding him. "We were off to a good start, don't screw this up now!!!" She shouted while bearing razor-sharp teeth. Brook just laughed off the pain while, puzzled, Yamato pondered whether she should reassure Nami or check Brook's injury.

Once the pleasantries were out of the way, Yamato looked out to sea. This was the same view Oden saw before he embarked on his adventure, a world of mysteries lying just beyond the horizon. The flicker of excitement that flashed in her eyes as she gazed at the sea reminded Luffy of how he felt when he, too, gazed at the sea before embarking on his adventure. With another big smile on his face, he stood next to her with his arms folded, "A world full of treasure waits for you, Yamato." With a smile, she replied, "Yes, but it's the world that I'm more interested in." Luffy chuckled before wrapping an arm around her shoulder, saying, "Welcome to the crew!" Yamato laughed with him as the two danced around the ship, shouting a multitude of things they believed they would encounter on their journey. Zoro let out a sigh before scratching the back of his head, "The last thing we need is someone to egg him on." "Loosen up a bit, Zoro!" Usopp said cheerfully while patting his back, "It's nice to have someone other than me to keep him happy." With that, he joined in, shouting things he wished to encounter as well. Another sigh escaped Zoro's lips as he took a seat and tried his best to get some rest. It wasn't until 15 minutes later, when the three had collapsed from exhaustion that he managed to doze off. As hard as it is to believe, Yamato hasn't had this much fun packed into one day in her entire life. It's like Luffy had re-awaken the dormant child inside her. Then again, it's something she should've expected from the future King of Pirates.

For the next few hours, Yamato spent her time moving her things to her new room in the Thousand Sunny. There wasn't that much that she was taking with her, so it didn't take her long to move everything. The only struggle she had was finding a place to set her mace down where it wouldn't be in the way (take into account its size when compared to most of the Straw Hats, especially Chopper). When she found a suitable place for her weapon, she reported to her new captain, using formalities like "sir" and "captain," telling him that she had prepared everything. Luffy just stared at her and laughed, confusing her. "You don't have to use any formalities around me, Yamato," he said with a smile, "just treat me like how you would treat any friend." Yamato's face blushed from embarrassment as she nodded, "Y-Yes, captain-er...Luffy." Luffy laughed some more at Yamato's mistake, Zoro joining in shortly after, chuckling to himself. This enraged Sanji, who happened to be passing by, as, in his eyes, they were making fun of her, trying to adjust to a new life she wasn't used to. "Why the hell are you laughing, moss-head?" He sneered. Zoro stopped laughing at once and glared at Sanji, who glared back, "Always flocking to a girl's side, aren't you, damn cook?" This enraged Sanji further as he ignited his foot, while at the same time, Zoro unsheathed his blades. Luffy continued to laugh as the two batted it out while Yamato sat there, wondering if she should intervene or let them be. Nami, however, quickly answered that for her as she came, flying out of nowhere, and bashed the two numbskull's heads against each other, and they both collapsed to the floor. "We have a new crew mate, and this is how you act in front of them?!" She shouted. Zoro sat up, rubbing his head, "It's not like any of this is new to her." Her retorted. Nami then struck Zoro in the face, sending him flying into a wall. Luffy laughed even harder at the three while Yamato kinda felt like she wasn't supposed to be there. Well, not in that moment, to be more precise. While Zoro recovered from the monstrous left hook Nami delivered him, Franky and Chopper showed her around the Sunny, and, if she was being honest, the ship was a whole lot bigger on the inside than the outside. Some rooms felt just as big as the ship, yet somehow managed to fit, while other rooms weren't as big, but it was still amazing how they fit in nonetheless. And Franky made sure to credit himself when it came to anything he created. Nearing the end of the tour, Yamato felt both amazed and overwhelmed. To her, she had to memorize this entire layout with little to no time if she didn't want to burden anyone or get lost. Little does she know that even her captain, Luffy, doesn't even remember half of the rooms on the ship and tends to get lost every time he wants to go anywhere. This was proven when Chopper opened the door to the engine room to see Luffy's arm caught in the gears. This frightened the three of them as they scrambled to free Luffy, and they would've gotten it over with quickly if he had stopped squirming.
