Taylor's POV

I had such a long day at the studio, I looked at the clock and it was already 10 PM, I've been here since 1 PM.

"Today was very productive, I'll text you!" I tell Jack as I head out. I was surprised that there were people waiting outside the studio since everyone else just wants to be wherever I'm at.

I looked at my phone and didn't receive any messages from Ellie. That was weird, she usually always asks me when I'm coming home. I send her a text saying I'm headed home and wait a while and look to see that she still hasn't read it, she usually reads my texts quick.

"Hey, is Ellie at home?" I ask one of my security guards that came from the house.

"Yeah, from what I know of, she never left" He tells me and I nod.

The ride back to my apartment was silent as I anxiously wondered what Ellie was doing.

"Elle baby!" I shout as I walk into the door.

No response.

I set my bag on the counter and head up the stairs towards her bedroom.

"Ellie?" I ask as I knock on her door, receiving no response again.

I opened it, revealing my sleeping daughter. I smile and give her a kiss on the forehead and carefully close her door again.

Ellie's POV

"She's gone, come out" I whisper towards my closet.

Mason carefully and slowly crawls out, when I saw I got a notification from Mom, it was too late for him to leave, his ride wasn't going to arrive on time.

"What are we going to do? Won't she see me leave?" He asks nervously.

Mason and I have been secretly dating ever since he passed me a note in our Social Studies class, but Mom doesn't know anything about us yet.

I heard footsteps approaching my door again, "Crap" I whisper as he crawls back into my closet.

"Babe?" Mom says walking back into my room.

I give her a smile, "Hey Mom!" I say as I clutched my blankets.

She looks around my room, "Were you speaking to someone babe?" She asks and I quickly shake my head.

"No, why?" I ask.

"Oh, I thought I heard you talking" She says raising an eyebrow and then smiles at me.

She sits down in on my bed and grabs my hands, "Did you eat dinner? I'm sorry I came home so late, I'll make you some food" She says and I shake my head.

"I ordered food, don't worry Mom" I tell her with a smile, reassuring her that I did eat my dinner.

She continues to ask me about what I did while she was gone and I basically lied about everything, there was no way I was going to tell her about this boy I snuck into our house without her permission.

That's when we heard a phone notification noise coming from my closet.

"What was that?" She asks slowly walking towards my closet, but I grab her arm.

"It's probably my iPad I forgot in there while I was searching through my clothes" I quickly tell her and she looks at my desk.

"Your iPads on your desk?" She questions and I look over to see it laying on top of my text book, crap.

She opens my closet door, revealing Mason sitting on the floor, with his phone held up to his chest.

"Who is this?" She yells taking a step back and I quickly push her away.

"Mom, this is my friend, he was just going to leave" I say quickly and grab Mason's arm, making him stand up.

Mason hangs his head low, "Sorry ma'am, I'm going to leave" He says as he grabs his jacket and starts to head out my door.

My Mom walks behind him, "What were you doing here?" She asks him, blocking him from walking out my room.

"Mom, please" I beg from behind him and I see her facial expressions change, she's mad.

"No, what were you two doing? Ellie, tell me" She demands and I sigh.

"We were studying Mom!" I exclaim and she laughs.

She shakes her head, putting her hands on her hips, "Studying? I don't think I'm stupid Ellie, is this your boyfriend?" She asks me staring him down.

I hang my head low, and nod.

She scoffs, "Leave" She tells him and he quickly runs out my door and we follow him down, as he walked out the door.

"You, have some explaining to do. What do you think you're doing bringing people here without my permission? Especially some boy" She says taking a hold on my hands.

"Mom, we didn't do anything bad, he just wanted to hang out" I exclaim and she runs her fingers through her hair.

"You haven't mentioned this boy once to me, what if something happened? You're both still under age, well I hope he is too" She says and I just nod.

She points up the stairs, "Go to your room" she says.

I grab her arm, "Mom, I'm sorry" I apologize and she shakes her head.

"I worry for you Ellie, bringing a boy around, saying he is your boyfriend and you didn't even tell me, why were you keeping that from me?" She asks with a hurt tone.

After hearing her say that, I didn't have any words to say. This wasn't like me, I would never do this, but I did. Tears start to slowly fall down my face as I choke out little sobs.

"Hey, hey, don't cry" She tells me, pulling me into her embrace.

"This isn't your fault, I told you I just worry about you, I don't trust these people and I don't know what they could've done to you and I would never be able to forgive myself" She tells me rubbing my back as she swayed us.

I stay with my head tucked into her neck and she kissed the side of my head, "You're okay, I just don't want you doing that ever again, got it?" She asks and I nod.
