Meerab
I wiped the mist from my vanity mirror. A transparent reflection of my drenched hair came into view. For a moment there, I scanned my face, my naked chest, and my nipples hardened as Murtasim's face came before my eyes.
Could he possibly like what he saw? Because I for sure did, when I saw his naked body. I have what Saba and I used to call Average Bodies. I am not slim or fat, and I call myself thick in the right places.
A door knock brought me out of my thoughts. "Meerab!" Murtasim's voice was sharp yet soft.
"Give me two minutes," I yelled, quickly drying my body. After changing into a light blue kurta, I wrapped the towel around my head.
Murtasim was hunched over the bed and pouting while staring at his name. He looked up, smiling. "Uncle Waqas is coming over tomorrow morning. We have to discuss a few details about Malik's case."
While Murtasim was recovering, he and my Dad decided to file a lawsuit against Malik, especially his son. All they have left is last-minute evidence, so there is no escaping the law.
"Is Mom also coming?" I strode over to my dresser and started my skincare. Murtasim sat up and walked around to me, standing right behind me.
"Yes. I believe she is."
Making me giggle, He placed his bearded chin on my shoulder, raking his arms around my waist. He took a long sniff and kissed my exposed flesh.
I nervously gulped. Butterflies in my stomach rose, and I was going crazy. Damn, my husband. He pressed his lips harsher this time, and I moaned into his touch. "Murtasim."
"Hmm."
"You have to take me shopping now. At this rate, my concealer will be finished in days." He slightly chuckled. It suited him.
This version of Murtasim was different than the rumors I had heard- heartless, emotional, and less and more demonic. I laughed internally at the time and almost called him a monster.Yet there were the other rumors, which were true. Murtasim led his family and people to the heights of success and prosperity. He cared for his subordinates, fed them, and fought for them. I couldn't be more proud of him.
However, this Murtasim standing beside me, caring, showering his affection, and protecting me, was a mixture of both. While I laid down my thoughts, insecurities, and fears, Murtasim had yet to open up. My wounds were fresh while he ran deep.
I'll wait for him like he does for me. Every corner. Every Step. Every breath of the way. I will stand in the middle of the tunnel and help him across it. Every darkness that once engulfed Murtasim, I will shine a light on them.
I leaned back into his warm chest and closed my eyes. My heart pounded faster than ever when Murtasim's hand reached my waistband.
"What are you doing?" I managed to utter.
"About to pleasure my wife!" This man never failed to comment, making me laugh.
"Yeah, right." I pulled away from him and fixed my posture. "This wife of yours has some serious work to after."
"What's more important than your husband, may I ask?"
