Flippy x Flaky

Flippy was leaving to the army today Flaky reminded herself, as she was making her way over to his house and mentally preparing herself for the inevitable moment when she would have to bid her closest friend, the nicest guy, whom she's had the biggest crush on since they were kids, farewell.
Flaky was notified that he was taking off at exactly 9:00 am, she couldn't help but wake up earlier than that to say goodbye to him before his departure.
She was upset with the idea of him having to go, but if this was something he wanted to do, she wasn't going to stop him. She arrived at his house and stood on his porch. Should I tell him how I feel? Will this be my last chance to tell him? Would that make me selfish? Would he even reciprocate those same feelings?
As she was about to knock on the door it was suddenly flung open and all of a sudden she was engulfed in a bear hug.
"F-Flippy!" Relaxing into the hug immediately, forgetting about her previous thoughts. She looked up at him with a timid smile. He was definitely taller than her by a few inches. "Hello, Flaky. I'm so glad you're here. I've been a nervous wreck all morning, I was worried I wouldn't catch you before my leave." Flippy said sheepishly, letting her go. "I'm not exactly ready to say my goodbyes to everyone. I'll miss you all." He added. She nodded understandably. They sat on the porch together talking to kill some time.
When 9:00 am came he was at his pick up stop. Saying his goodbyes to everyone. Ready to leave he had one foot into the bus before she stopped him. "WAIT!" She exclaimed, a hand gripping his. He turned to look at her in surprise waiting for her to continue. Damn it all! Tell him Flaky, this could be your last chance! "I-shoot.. Please be careful out there, you're gonna do great. Come back home safe!" He smiled "Oh, sweetness." Flippy said softly, picking her up in an embrace. "I promise." And with that he was gone.
She wanted kicked herself for not telling him how she felt..

Author's note: Yuhhh! Sorry it's short I promise I'll try to figure this story out. This is my first book ever and I'm just playing around with it a little. I did a wee lil mess up with the pictures, lmao. I recently got back into to HTF and realized theres a lack of fluffy, cute Flippy and Flaky stuff out there.
