As soon as Amar delivered the news, Haseena’s eyes widened in shock.

“Kyaa!!” she nearly shouted.

Amar took a step back, slightly startled. “Are dheere, aap chilla kyu rahi hain?” he asked, raising an eyebrow.

Realizing her reaction, Haseena composed herself, adjusting her posture. “Nahi, chillaya kaha,” she said in a calmer voice, trying to regain her composure.

Amar observed her with amusement but chose not to comment. “Aap itna tension mat lijiye,” he reassured. “Yaha ke corporator ne do cabin ke space mei ek hi cabin bana diya hai, isliye hume aur aapko ek hi cabin share karna padega. Aapko koi problem toh nahi hai?”

Haseena hesitated for a brief moment before responding, “Ahm… Nahi,” though her voice lacked confidence.

Amar caught onto her hesitation. “Agar problem hai toh bol dijiye. Hum bahar kisi table pe shift ho jayenge,” he offered sincerely.

Haseena quickly shook her head. “Are aapko shift hone ki zarurat nahi hai. Hum manage kar lenge.”

“Par aapko manage karne ki koi zarurat nahi hai… hum—” Amar started, only for Haseena to cut him off.

“Humne kaha na hum share kar lenge cabin! Aapko ek baar mein samajh nahi aata?” she snapped, her voice laced with irritation.

Amar smirked slightly, appreciating her feisty nature. “Aap sure toh hain na?” he asked again, a trace of concern in his tone.

Haseena folded her arms, looking at him in mild exasperation. “Abhi aapko kagaz pe likh ke denge toh manenge aap?” she said with mock seriousness.

Amar’s eyes widened slightly. “Nahi matlab, woh…”

“Nahi, nahi dijiye, kagaz laiye likh ke dete hain,” she continued, raising an eyebrow at him.

Amar put his hands up in surrender. “Nahi, nahi, hume yakin hai aap pe.” He gestured toward the cabin with a polite smile. “Toh phir aap aiye.”

Haseena followed Amar to the cabin, her eyes scanning the well-organized space as soon as they entered. There were two tables set at a reasonable distance from each other, one with a nameplate reading S.H.O Amar Vidrohi and the other labeled S.H.O Haseena Malik.

Haseena’s lips curled up in appreciation. “Impressive. Cabin bahut acche se maintain kiya hai aapne.”

Amar chuckled. “Yeh cabin maintains karna humare bas ki baat nahi hai,” he admitted, shaking his head. “Woh toh hume itne acche team members mile hain ke, kya hi bataaye…”

Haseena tilted her head in curiosity. “Aap apne team se cabin maintain karwate hain?”

Amar immediately shook his head. “Aap mujhe phir se galat samajh rahi hain. Hum team se kuch nahi bolte. Woh toh Payal aur Anisha hain ke… khud se hi maintain kar deti hain. Lekin hum unn dono se humara cabin saaf karne ko nahi kehte.”

Haseena hummed thoughtfully. “I see. Aapki team aapko kaafi help karti hai… Btw, iss thane mai kitne cases pending hain?”

Amar’s expression turned serious. “Case toh itne zyada pending nahi hain… shayad teen case abhi tak pending hain.”

“Hum unke files dekh sakte hain? If you don’t mind,” Haseena asked.

Amar grinned. “Are isme mind karne ki kaunsi baat hai? Aur aap request kyu kar rahi hain, haq se maangiye! Aakhirkar saath mein hi toh rehna hai.”

Haseena frowned slightly. “Excuse me!! Saath mein rehna hai matlab?”

Amar smirked. “Hume saath mein reh ke hi toh kaam karna hai… aur woh bhi as a team. Aapko kya laga?”

Haseena scoffed but nodded. “Hume kya lagega, hum bhi yahi kehne wale the… ke hume as a team kaam karna hai, competitors ke tarah nahi.”

“Haan… sahi kaha aapne. Competitors banke nahi… balki hum toh kehte hain partners banke kaam karna chahiye. Kya kehti hain?” Amar extended his hand toward her with a knowing smile. “—Partners?”

Haseena stared at his hand for a moment before giving a small smile of her own and shaking it firmly. “Partners.”

As she tried to pull her hand back, she realized Amar was still holding onto it, looking at her with a smile.

“Mr. Amar… humara haath?” she asked, raising an eyebrow and giving an awkward smile.

“Hain?” Amar blinked, confused.

“Humara haath, aapne chhoda nahi abhi tak…”

Amar looked down and saw he was still holding her hand. Embarrassed, he quickly let go and rubbed the back of his neck. “I am really sorry, mera dhyaan pata nahi kaha tha… I am sorry.”

Haseena chuckled lightly. “Are, are, aap itni baar sorry mat boliye… it’s okay. Ab hum mudde pe aate hain… jo case ke files hain, woh kahan hain?”

“Oh haan, hum toh bhool hi gaye the!” Amar hurried to a nearby shelf, retrieved three files, and placed them on the table. “Yeh lijiye.”

Haseena picked up the files one by one, her curiosity piqued. Amar explained the cases in detail:

1. The Silver Thief Case (Blue File): A peculiar chain thief who has been active for two weeks. The thief only steals one tola silver chains and rings, avoiding gold or any other valuables. Ever since the public became aware, they have stopped wearing silver and gold, which has prevented further thefts. The thief has mysteriously disappeared since then, leaving Amar puzzled about his next move.

2. The Mysterious Caller Case (Red File): A college student, Sakshi, has been receiving eerie phone calls. The anonymous male caller predicts every event that will happen to her in college. Initially, she thought it was a prank, but when everything started happening exactly as described, she became frightened. After blocking the number, she started receiving death threats from different numbers. This has caused panic, and she finally lodged a police complaint.

3. The Land Dispute Case (Green File): A businessman, Ankush Ahuja, accused local builders of manipulating villagers to refuse to sell their land to him, despite his above-market-value offers. The villagers, however, insist it’s their own choice, rejecting the idea of being pressured. Amar believes Ahuja’s ego and desperation to acquire the land might be clouding his judgment, and there could be deeper motives involved.

........

After discussing the cases, Amar leaned back and smiled at Haseena. “Acha chhodiye, baad mei dekhenge. Ab aap yeh bataiye ki aapka table theek jagah pe hai ya aapko shift hona hai?”

Haseena glanced between both tables and then settled down in her chair, looking up at Amar with a soft smile. “Nahi, hum iss table mein theek hai.”

Amar mirrored her smile. “Thik hai… aap jaise comfortable feel karein.”

Meanwhile, outside the cabin, Karishma Singh happened to pass by and noticed Amar and Haseena smiling at each other.

She frowned, folding her arms. “Aama yeh ka ho raha hai… Yeh dono aise muskura kyun rahe hain? Aisa kya ho gaya?” Her eyes narrowed in suspicion. “Madam Sir aur Amar Sir dost ban gaye ka?” she muttered, making a face as she continued observing them.
