It was the middle of July 2088 when it all started. The streets of Cyberlantis were as busy as ever with people on their way home from work and school, lining the roads with hovering cars and bikes.
Meanwhile, at a school located in the heart of the city, two thirteen year old children, a boy wearing a light grey hoodie and a girl dressed in a bright pink bomber jacket with a pink bunny shaped pin in her long dark brown hair, named Ryan and Amy, were exiting their school building for the last time of that Summer. The glass door quickly swung open after it had been uncaringly kicked by Ryan, who sighed moodily as he slumped down the steps of the school's main entrance. Amy caught the door that Ryan had kicked open as she jogged to keep up with him.
"Damn, I can't stand that teacher!" Ryan yelled moodily whilst Amy caught up to him.
"You saw it yourself, didn't you? The guy has the nerve to give me an E on a test, then yell at me like I'm the scum of the Earth!" ,he continued with his moan.
Amy looked at Ryan as she asked him "well, did you actually study for the test like he asked us to?".
"Ha! No, why would I?" Ryan replied cockily.
"That doesn't surprise me to be fair" Amy said back at Ryan.
"What about you, how'd you do on the test?" Ryan asked Amy, already knowing what her answer would probably be.
"Got an A!", Amy boasted proudly.
"Of course you did..." Ryan added with a sigh.
The two approached their holo-bikes as Amy asked Ryan "I'm heading back to Ellie's place, you wanna come?"
"Yeah sure" Ryan chuckled, taking Amy up on her offer. However, as Amy was putting on her helmet she stopped and glanced up at the sky, spotting something that looked like a green shooting star. She shrugged her shoulders, thinking nothing of it before speeding off with Ryan into the beautiful lit up city of Cyberlantis since, after all, anything is possible in the year 2088, isn't it?
When the pair arrived at their friend Ellie's house, they parked their bikes down a side alley and knocked on a huge metal garage door with a lightly tinted blue window. The door was almost immediately lifted after the knock, revealing a tall one-handed robot covered in blue lights.
"Oh, hello you two!", said the robot cheerfully to Ryan and Amy in his English accented synthetic voice.
"Hi Lee!" the two children replied, as they weaved under the garage door and into Ellie's garage.
Ellie was nowhere to be seen, and Lee closed the garage door before turning to Ryan and Amy.
"I'm terribly sorry about the mess by the way, I haven't been able to tidy up in here thanks to my blooming hand malfunctioning" he said, as the pair's attention was drawn to Lee's handless stump on his rectangular metal forearm.
