"New York City. You may not have met me yet, but you will. My name is Frostfire, and I am broadcasting this message because there is a Boogeyman lurking in the shadows and they have been for a while, kidnapping citizens and experimenting on them. They call themselves The Eye. They've got labs spread out across the state. To those who can help bring down this tyrannical criminal organization, I could definitely use it. Citizens, keep your loved ones close and safe. To the others like me," the redhead woman on the screen takes a pause. Watching the broadcast is Charlotte Treybourne, viewing the live feed as it's happening. She holds a glass of tequila in one hand, drinking calmly while she watches. The redhead continues her plea, "I need your help bringing them down. This is Frostfire, reluctant hero, signing off."

Charlotte closes the feed, taking a deep breath as she set her glass aside. Placing her head in her hands. Her eyelids shutter closed, distant memories forming, trying to merge back together. The president of Treybourne Optics was having a hard time piecing together what had happened to her. Today, she's the president of a high tech eyeglass company, and the leader of secret underground organization The Eye, responsible for the creation of many different militarized projects, most of which include human experimentation. Before, however, she was something different entirely. She was something more human, something more feeling. Charlotte tried to put it all together but so much information was being held from her. Now she's responsible for reclaiming the creations of her experiments, the heroes and villains that her projects created.

'This is Frostfire, reluctant hero—'

Those words.
Reluctant hero.
Hero.

She could hear them in her head, weaving together brief visions like alphabet soup. What were her memories trying to tell her? The visions have her so little. The last vision she had was of a baby. The ultimate weapon, the doctor called it. This one was more textural. White fabrics, red fibers, and a mask. She could feel it all in her hands, see the bright colors but not what they meant.

Reality snapped back to her once the screen came back on, the brightness illuminating the room. A shadowed face appeared, the static masking his identity. The chairman of the board, ready to lay into her about the broadcast that rocked the city. Treybourne sat up straight, hands together at the desk. His voice was trenched in static, but she knew exactly what he was going to say, "Charlotte. We've made your instructions clear. You were to capture and neutralize each of the experiments. This has escalated to a public level, and now the city is going to be onto you and your activities. This 'Frostfire' needs to be found. Have her captured. This is your last chance, Charlotte. Otherwise we'll have to cease the projects, pull the funding, and everything you care about will be erased. We can't do this time and time again, so get it done. Do you understand?"

Charlotte was frozen, taking it all in. She nodded, "Yes…" Charlotte agreed, keeping her hands together. The woman had a lot of practice hiding her nerves, but on the inside, she was cracking. Something about the way he said that had her questioning everything.

Those words were stuck on her and she couldn't let go.

Again.

         Again.

Have they done this before? A punishment she was unaware of. The man nodded, bringing the conversation to a close, "Good. Get it taken care of."

The call shut off, leaving Charlotte there in the dimly lit room. She didn't have many options left. She tried a couple times to capture Frostfire and they had been unsuccessful. Now that she's brought the issue into the light, though, she'd need to take a different approach.

There was a final call to make to put an end to all of this. She knew she had one last bullet in the chamber, and that was The Dark Weaver. A former experiment herself, Alisha Wilson went into her hitman profession willingly compared to most whom Charlotte has brought in to be worked on. The Dark Weaver was elite, and the only option Charlotte had left.
