s2 ep15: the dinner party

"backstabber"

Larisa awoke to her phone ringing, it was Elena. She and Stefan had gone to the lake house, and they had been staying for three days now. As the witch brought her phone to her ear she heard her friend scream in excitement, she had found old pictures of the two while they were still young and when life was normal.

The pair had begged Elena's dad to make a swing for them when they were just six years old. "The swing is still on!" she screamed as old happy memories hit her. "You should come, again! Just like the old times." she quietly said the last part.

The Gilbert girl was missing her old life, she wanted it back. She hated herself, for being cursed like this, being a doppelganger. It tore her from the inside that she had dragged her friends into this.
But it wasn't her fault.
For the Lisbon girl, she didn't know which was worse, her old life, where her parents were still in the picture, or her life now, where her magic took over her and her brother's life. It seemed like she could never catch a break. It tore her from the inside, she had dragged her brother into this.
But it wasn't her fault.

Both girls could relate to each other so much and yet so little.

"Anyway!" Elena said quickly, "What are your plans for today?" breaking the silence.

Larisa hummed and sat down by her vanity. "Jenna asked me to accompany her on her historical tour of Mystic Falls with Elijah since he's a journalist'. Plus, Carol Lockwood suggested it." She smiled to herself.

Larisa couldn't deny the bit of excitement she felt for the day ahead. After her and Elijah's interaction at the tea party, Larisa couldn't stop thinking of him. She knew she shouldn't get attached or feel anything towards him. But she was wondering if she did. All she knew was that no matter what negative feeling she felt in a moment, Elijah had been able to crumble it. She liked his company, she admits.

Not like she'll ever tell him.

Elena chuckled. "Sounds boring."

"Extremely." Larisa chuckled to herself before checking the time. "I need to drive Jenna and me to our meeting spot in the woods in half an hour. I'll text you later."

"Okay, keep safe. I love you."

"I love you too."

"Have I told you how beautiful you look today?" Elijah asked whilst walking next to the witch, giving her a handsome smile.

Larisa's eyes widen slightly at his bold compliment. "Oh, uh." She dug her nails in her hand, a habit. "Thank you." She smiled shyly, unfamiliar to the feeling.
