she looked around camp with her eyes narrowed, knee bumping up and down as she subconsciously bit her nails. she hadn't seen him yet, the boy everyone said had killed a minotaur on his own.

"calm down, haven" luke's deep voice chided from beside her.

"sorry!" she smiled nervously, "i just wanna meet him."

he put his hand on her knee, stopping her from continuing her nervous habit, "i know you do" luke laughed.

"i mean, annabeth thinks he's finally the one" haven informed, "i have to find out if he is, for annabeth."

"i know, i know" he said, already having heard this, "just come inside the hermes cabin, that's where he's going anyways."

she sighed, standing up and following luke to his cabin, "fine."

the two of them made their way inside of the cabin, walking towards luke's favorite siblings. haven tried to ignore the few stares and side eyes she got, most campers didn't like haven, and they didn't try to hide it. haven wished she could've just hid in the crowd, but unfortunately she stuck out like a sore thumb.

an aphrodite kid, with glistening fake blonde hair and the only one not wearing an obnoxious orange shirt. she had been at camp for so long, that chiron had honestly just given up on enforcing dress code on her. haven looked down at her flowy white shirt, noticing it was short enough that everyone could see her bellybutton piercing and that it was so low cut her bra was basically out. she was suddenly aware of how short her shorts were, moving to pull them down. she had never cared what she wore before, she was a teenager, a daughter of aphrodite. whatever she thought made her beautiful, she always wore.

but now, under all the judging eyes, haven felt herself getting more insecure. suddenly, she felt very small. she had been feeling small a lot recently, ever since the incident.

haven sat down next to luke on his bunk, with chris on the other side of him. she had always liked chris, even when everyone judged and stared, chris was always nice to her. she sat, waiting, thinking about her recent fall from grace. wondering how it happened that her only three friends were, luke (her situationship), chris (a boy who probably just pitied her), and annabeth (a 12 year old).

she was snapped out of her thoughts when luke elbowed her lightly, getting her attention. she looked at him with wide bright eyes and then over to what he was nodding towards. chiron entered the cabin, a short blonde boy standing next to him. haven watched them over luke's shoulder, not noticing when his eyes quickly darted to her face with a small smile.

"everyone!" chiron got the campers attention.

"wait-wait a minute" the blonde boy tried to stop him, and haven almost felt herself cringe for the poor kid.

"everyone!" chiron repeated, "your attention please, this is percy jackson. i trust you will see to whatever he needs" everyone immediately looked away and got back to whatever they were doing before.

chiron spoke a few more inaudible words to percy before leaving. haven watched as he awkwardly looked around, clearly not knowing what to do with himself. she watched as he found his designated sleeping bag, maneuvering his way through the crowded cabin. she didn't notice when the rest of the group stood, luke placing a hand on her shoulder to get her attention.

once she stood, percy was now out of eyeshot. she tried to look over luke's tall frame to get a glimpse. eventually she had to push herself in between chris and luke because neither seemed very keen on moving for her.

"that's the kid?" one of the hermes kids behind haven asked.

"well duh," she realized it was rude as soon as she said it, but luke smiling at her bluntness made haven feel better about it.
