As my mother abruptly dropped me off in an unknown place, all I could think was, 'at least she had the decency to leave me with an umbrella.'

However, the umbrella didn't seem to help much because no matter where i held it rain would still find its way onto my face; maybe they were just tears. Nonetheless, I made the uneasy trek to the double doors leading into what I hoped would be a temporary "solution", since that must have been what my parents thought it was.

Soon I had reached the doors, and just as I lifted my hand to knock, they were opened by a figure from the inside. I looked him up and down, which I then realized may have seemed a bit rude, and that I should learn my manners.

"And who may you be young man?" The figure asked.

"Umm.. Tyler, " I said uneasily.

I now saw that the figure was a man that was unusually tall and slender, and it gave me a creepy feeling. I shivered a little as the man leaned closer to me.

"Ah, yes. Tyler. We've been expecting you, " He said with a smile.

------------------------------------------------------------

As we entered the building, I noticed other people starting to look at me, but I brushed it off. The man and I approached what looked to be a sort of sign-in counter or something.

"We have someone new today; Tyler Driscoll, " The man said kindly.

However, everyone else in the room seemed to flinch when my name was said, and they were all staring at me, including the secretary. I already had a feeling about being here in the first place, and they were not helping.

"Problem? " The man inquired.

The secretary shook her head and began to fill out information before handing the man a room key shortly after. I wondered why she would hand it to him instead of me, since I was the one staying in a room here.

After the man recieved the key, he gave me a look meaning for me to follow him. Seeing as he was the only person in this place that I'd ever met, that's what I did. As we walked through the halls, word was apparently getting around that I had arrived, since more and more people's eyes started to follow me wherever I went.

Eventually we reached what seemed to be my room, and the man unlocked it, motioning for me to go inside, and following soon after. As he closed the door, I started to examine my surroundings, or, more like the bed, since that was the only thing in the room.

"By the way, " the man said with a pause. "You can call me Dr. Graves."

I nodded.

"Well," Dr. Graves said. "What do you think?"

"Its okay I guess," I said reluctantly.

"Okay? You guess? " Dr. Graves seemed hurt.

"I just mean that there could be more in here besides a bed. I mean, obviously I still want the bed but the room just seems empty without anything else," I said awkwardly.

Dr. Graves stared at me for a moment before he began to laugh. I was a bit confused, but as he started to calm down he said, "I'm just kidding, I don't care if you think the room is "okay". Unfortunately, having anything other than a bed is against company policy. "

I was perplexed at this point, and I was about to ask why that company policy even existed, the doctor started to open the door again to leave.

"Hey wait! " I yelled. "Where are you going!? "

Dr. Graves smiled. "Don't you want to get used to being in there?"

He left me alone, as I heard the door lock with a click.
