"Y/n we need last weeks report...?"

The young woman accompanied by the director head on the bullet train back to Seoul, Myeong watches the scenery go by as director Cheon watched her from a faraway seat, it had to do with something he said about a "3rd person pov", as the colorful trees, lively people and simple houses passed by she felt her head get heavy, her worries melted away as she drifted into a deep slumber

*click!*

Jin Cheon's camera shot a perfect picture of his main character sleeping peacefully on a train, his beloved character Bido Lee, played by Myeong.

"WHAT?! THATS IT????" you dramatically slouched in dissatisfaction with the update of your favorite webtoon

"Y/N!!!" your manager yelled, making you look up from your phone "report. now."

"O-oh... yes ma'am" you silently nodded

You were back to your nightmare of a job

I won't bore you with too much of your company's information, Meropide inc. (or at least the branch of Meropide inc. you work in) involves high end jewelry, and you work in the creative department which means you're a designer.

Well- not exactly DESIGNER designer but more like you sketch out an idea and pass it onto the higher ups, who more or less either chose to work on top of your sketches or just copy and paste what you designed without giving you any credit.

It wasn't your ideal job but it was what payed the bills so you stuck with it

Which is exactly why product launching events always stressed you and your team out, between sketching out designs, passing them on to higher ups or even writing the weekly reports on your teams progress. It was all a hassle.

You collected all of the sketches your team made up in the past few weeks, put them neatly in a binder and were off to hand them to your manager, as you walked the halls the voices of the busy office workers echoed through your head.

As soon as you came in front of your managers office you knocked three times, after still not being met with the response from your manager, you opened the door to her office to find no one there. You shrugged and left the binder in top of her desk before turning on heels and exiting her office.

you were in the middle of entering the elevator to head off to your lunch break when you heard your phone ring to your surprise it was an unknown number, normally you would ignore unknown callers but something in the back of your head was telling you to pick up. so you did.

"um...hello?" you greeted

"nice to see miss Navia didn't give me the wrong number" the deep silky voice you were all too familiar with spoke

your whole body froze at the sound of the man's voice "h-how did you?"

"you didn't think I was that stupid right? you do know that it takes a moment to search up Navia's name, it wasn't a big surprise that she didn't want to go on the date" he explained, he was neatly sitting on his office chair, one leg crossed over the other "I just didn't expect her to hire an actor to play the part"

"Ah yes! i'm an actor yes- t-thats what I am" you nervously scurried the halls of your work building in order to exit and go to your lunch break, every word leaving the speaker making your body tense up more and more

"I'll be direct miss...?"

"Uhm... Julie... L/n" you reluctantly let your fake name roll off your tongue and almost immediately slapping your face in disappointment just hoping to god that he'd buy it

"Miss Julie, my grandfather has been pestering me about finding a partner for months now his promise was that in return for going on the date i'd never hear this matter from him again, but unfortunately I know he'll go back on that promise of his. Which is where you come in"

"what exactly are you suggesting?" you placed your employee card on the ratchet sensor, making it turn

"I need you to play the role of my girlfriend"

you blinked once, then twice, then you finally processed the words that came into contact with your ears "...you can't be serious" you innocently laughed thinking it was a joke

"but I am serious" the man uncrossed his legs and got up from his chair, pacing around his office "think of it as me hiring you to play a part"

"why me though?" you waved your hand, calling a taxi while questioning the man

"because you have a certain... charm? i guess?" he looked out his large glass wall, giving him the perfect view of nearby buildings and neighborhoods

"If I were to theoretically speaking, accept this offer, what would I get out of it?" you fidgeted with your nails nervously

"how much does your current job pay you?" he inquired

"about like... 550 mora a month" you sighed, attempting to call another taxi which pulled over

"I'll pay you that amount times five per date"

you took a step back "a-are you sure? I mean-"

"take it or leave it" he calmly spoke "if you really don't want to take it I can always hire another actress-"

"I-I'll take it!" you opened the taxi door "I'll take the job"

the man smirked on the other side of the phone "excellent"

"just be careful mister duke"

"be careful of what?" his expression turned to confusion

"if you don't pay attention you might just fall for my irresistible charm" you chuckled to yourself "Oh he hung up-"

"if you don't pay attention you might just fall for my irresistible charm" you chuckled to yourself "Oh he hung up-"
