Interviewer: Start at the beginning. When did you first fall in love with music?
Daisy Jones: I suppose I'd always loved it. Ever since I was born. I saw Cream at the PAC Center and Zeppelin at the Whisky. Snuck backstage for The Who at the Shrine. I was years old, and the whole world just seemed so beautiful and good. But I fell in love with it, truly in love, when I saw Aza Odell sing at the Whiskey.
Aza Odell: Yes, I remember that night at the whiskey. Everyone remembers the first day they meet Daisy Jones. I was wearing this burnt orange wrap top with bell sleeves that had rhinestones on them. Rod Reyes was adjusting it before I went on stage, plunging it lower and lover down my chest so the men there would notice me. (shivers) No one tells you how weird the men are when you're going into the music business as a single woman.
Daisy Jones: She went on the stage in this beautiful red top, glitter reflecting off her tits. And (laughs) I remember praying that one day I'd have the confidence to show off my tits like that.
Man off Camera: I still would have killed to have seen this.
Aza: Basta, you've seen the video. (Turns to camera) Of course, Roddy Rey was videotaping it to go over my performance work later.
Interviewer: Could we see the video? (Cheering off camera)
Aza: You've seen it a million time mija, but sure.
Video playing
Daisy: I mean, she had this black brown hair that was glittering under the lights. And her voice, oh my god, it had this rasp that just made you want to listen to it forever and ever. And the amount of control she had in it. People were just talking over her forever until she hit a huge note and you could hear a pin drop. And that doesn't happen in The Whiskey. I mean, even I put my coke down for her. That didn't happen either.
Aza: I would never consider that to be my best performance, actually, it was one of my first. But seeing this tall woman with frizzy red hair and the most gorgeous face I'd ever seen run at me after made it one my all time favorites.
Daisy: I rushed at her, and I mean really ran, dodging around all those people. When I got to her, I had to fight every muscle in my body not to throw my arms around her.
Aza Odell was exhilarated. It was the only way to describe the feeling of getting off a stage after a performance. She wondered how people could being doing drugs when that felt a million times better. She was considering maybe they do it to try to recreate that rush of adrenaline when a large ball of frizzy red hair ran straight at her, causing her to fall back into the bar.
Daisy: Okay, yeah, I knocked her into the bar. I couldn't help it, I just had to get to her before anyone else did.
The ball of red frizz extended a hand to Aza, pulling her up with surprising strength before pulling her into a tight, but quick hug.
"I'm Margaret Daisy Jones, but you can just call me Daisy," she said, practically hopping up and down. Aza looked back and forth between Rod and the girl, Daisy, before letting loose a wild grin.
"Aza Odell, it's wonderful to meet you Margaret Daisy."
Aza: Of course I wasn't mad. No one can get mad while meeting Daisy Jones. Except, of course

FanfictionSure, I was overlooked. My songwriting was taken over by Billy's, by Daisy's. As was my singing. Graham's guitar playing bested mine by miles. But so much of living, love, is the being unknown.
