"𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗟 we even say? You disappeared for a month to go on land! I can't believe that you did such a thing!" Spirit gave her younger sister the universal look of disappointment.
"It has been a few days and you are still bringing this up! I know what I have done!" Soul slightly frowned but rolled her eyes.
The two mermaids were about thirty miles away from Mira Beach—or in other terms—completely out of human sight. They were idled above the ocean's surface trying to come up with a lie to explain to the others about Soul's disappearance.
"I do not know your obsession with them, the humans... You are not one of them and will never be, Soul. Do you know what may have happened if you were exposed? They would kill you! And then come to ocean to look for more of us!"
Soul looked out into the distance with a saddened look, understanding that it was best she not return to the fun Miami world that she was lucky enough to experience for such a short period of time.
Plus Spirit was right. The rest of the mermaids would become endangered if she were to be exposed, which she almost was at one point.
