|Colby's POV| TW Mention of Abuse

He broke down. I don't blame him at all though. I would too. A year ago I would've never thought of seeing him like this. But here we are, on my kitchen floor. Him, holding onto me like he'll never let go. I told him deep breaths and helped him until his breathing wasn't irregular. He then muttered the five words I thought I would never hear come out of his mouth, whether we broke up or we didn't, "Why did we break up?" I replied shortly after, saying exactly what I was thinking, "I don't know, but for now we need to focus on you and how you are." He hugged me impossibly tighter, but not before looking up at me and giving me a little kiss on the lips. I sat there shocked. I didn't move until I heard snores beneath me. I layed him in my bed, but as I was about to leave he pulled me down to lay next to him. I quietly wrapped my arms around his waist pulling him in closer, him cuddling into my chest, and we both peacefully slept through the night.

*The Next Morning*

He woke up thrashing, yelling, kicking. I didn't know what to do so I let him go. He fell off the bed with a thud.

"Please, p-pl-please," he said in a quiet whisper. "It's Colby," I replied softly, so I wouldn't scare him. He looked up and immediately started sobbing, saying how sorry he was. I just pulled him into my arms tightly and told him everything would be alright.
