a RATCHED kind of love

Part 13

God this was gonna be a long night.

And a long night it was . Mildred did not go easy on my punishment, but I definitely enjoyed it more than I would ever admit .

We both fell asleep naked and wrapped up in each others arms.
I woke up the next morning with the sun shining into my eyes, Mildred still asleep next to me. I sat admiring her for a while before I decided to get up and make us both some breakfast .
After about an hour of me prepping and cooking the breakfast I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist .
"This smells amazing my love" Mildred says kissing my neck.
"Good morning to you my darling, I thought I would cook us our first breakfast of many, in our beautiful new home" I say turning round and resting my hands on Mildred's waist.
"I love you (y/n)" she says pecking my lips
"I love you to milly. Now let's enjoy our breakfast it's all out on the balcony" I say grabbing her hand and pulling her outside.
"Wow (y/n) this is incredible ." She says sitting at the table and admiring the food I had prepared.
What she didn't know was that there was a special reason I had made this breakfast , not only was it the first morning of the rest of our lives together . I had planned to propose.
Throughout breakfast Mildred made most of the conversation as I was mentally prepping myself for what I was about to do .
"(Y/n) are you okay? You're very distant this morning" Mildred question grabbing my hand across the table.
"Y..yes I'm okay just admiring you and this view and thinking about how beautiful life feels right now" I say back somewhat telling the truth.
"I'm so happy (y/n)" Mildred said before continuing to eat her breakfast.
After we were finished we cleared all the stuff away and sat back outside just watching the waves wash in .

"One sec my love I'll be back I'm just going to grab us both a book to read" I say leaning over and giving her a kiss.
I walk inside and up to our bedroom, I didn't have time to buy an engagement ring as I planned this very spontaneously but I knew the time was right . So I went upstairs and got the ring my mother had given me when I was little that used to be my grandmothers. It was a beautiful gold band with an emerald green stone which almost felt like it was made for Mildred.

I walked back downstairs nervously and out to the balcony . Luckily Mildred had her head rested back and eyes closed.
I knelt in front of her and held her hand , interlacing our fingers.
"(Y/n) w..what are you doing" she stuttered out her eyes already tearing up.
"Mildred Ratched I know we didn't start off the way most couples do but I wouldn't change it for the world because look where it brought us. I know this may seem soon but I couldn't imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone else. You are the most beautiful woman inside and out and I am so lucky to have you in my life and for saving  my life. I know we may not be able to get married officially , but I'm sure one day things will change wether that means we finally get married in our 80s" we both chuckle before I carry on
"But I want to make this promise to you that no matter what we go through I will always be by your side all the ups and downs , the laughs and the tears I want to experience everything with you and you alone . So with all that said Mildred Ratched will you do the honours of one day being my wife" I finish my speech and both of us have tears running down our cheeks. Mildred just stares at me for a minute with love and admiration written over her face.
"Yes (y/n) of course I will marry you" she finally says cupping my face and kissing me .
We pull apart and I take her hand placing the ring on her finger. She stands up and I hug her tight lifting her off the ground slightly and spinning us around.
"(Y/n) put me down" she says laughing. I do and bring her into a kiss my hands cupping her face .
"I love you Mildred Ratched" I say against her lips.
"I love you to mrs Ratched"

A/n: gosh I finally updated . I know it's a bit of a short one but I lost all motivation for this story . So yes this will be the last chapter (unless I decide to continue it when I find some inspiration)
