Chapter 1: Just a Background Character

Jisung had always hated math. Yet he was sitting in class listening to his teachers go on and on about it.

Math just never clicked to him. Although his grades weren't bad, he didn't like it and didn't put in much effort either.

But

There was 1 thing that got him through all of the misery that was math.

Lee Minho

Or as some called him

Lee Know.

Lee Minho was a year older than him. He is known as a school heartthrob. He and his friends, Chan (an Aussi dude, known for being nice), Changbin ( a short muscular gym rat who everyone is scared of), and Hyunjin (a handsome guy known for breaking hearts), are known for being extremely good-looking. They have gathered quite a fanbase including all genders. He described being a cat-like person with a knack for creating mischief.

Jisung had always wondered what it would feel like to be the center of attention, having people adore you and watch you while you try to get through this hell called collage. But he was always glad he wasn't. He was perfectly content with being a background supporting character, or a nobody.

Just as he was about to rap up his thoughts, he heard the professor say "That's all for today's class. Remember to revise and review the material since you have a test this week. We will be starting calculus afterward, so be prepared."

' Well that's disappointing' thought Jisung. Calculus was one of his least favorite things and he had spent most of his time daydreaming- ...no... Just thinking... About Lee Minho. Not in a creepy way or he likes him way.

 ' I don't like him. I'm enthralled or intrigued by him. Yea,' thought Jisung.

He started to pack up his things and leave. As he was walking, he got a message.

inne and seungminne didn't have brekkie, we're planning to go to district 9 care

I don't eat either

Jisung walked to the uni courtyard. He walked at a hurried pace. Although he loved his friends, when they were hungry, he did not love them quite as much.

As he got to the courtyard he saw his 3 friends, Felix, Jeongin, and Seungmin waiting for him.

" Finally! What took you so long to get here?" Asked his grumpy and hungry friend Seungmin.  "Sorry, I tried to hurry up," Jisung said, and " Well, try harder" was the reply he got back.

In their quarters, Kim Seungmin was the wise but grumpy one. You could always trust him to tell the truth, even if it hurts. He was also a music major like himself. He was a fantastic singer and Jisung wished he could sing as great as he did.

" Let him be Seungmin hyung. Let's just go to the café," said Jeongin to which Seungmin rolled his eyes. Although Seungmin was never one to quite a fight but, Jeongin was one of the people he would (rarely) listen to. Plus he was hungry.

 Jeongin was the youngest in the quad, a year you get more than the others. He was (again) also a music major.

Jisung and the others walked to the café. The District 9 café was a small local café that was popular among the uni students. In Jisung's opinion, they had the best cheesecake in the town and their drinks were also pretty good.

The group sat down on an empty table and scanned the menus.

" I'm gonna get the..... Rice cake with a lemonade."

" Again Felix? Well, I'm going to get the.. bulgogi."

" Bolgogi? Seungminine? This is the second time."

"Oh shut it, fairy boy. As if-"

"Alright, stop it you two," Said Jisung.

 Seungmin once again rolled his eyes and Felix just sighed. Felix and Seungmin argue the most in the group. Felix hates to lose fights. He was Jisungs longest friend as they had met when they were 17. Felix was the new transfer kid from Australia. Jisung immediately took a liking to Felix the two helped each other learn the other's languages. During this process, Felix also ended up becoming Jisungs Bff. Later when they meet Seungmin and Jeongin, they decide to stay together as BFFs and to be each other's support systems. He now was a dance major, the group loved to see him dance and he worked hard on it.

" I'm going to get the ham sandwich with a slice of the strawberry cheesecake. What about you Innie?"

"I think I'll get the pancakes with chocolate , Jisung Hyung."

"Perfect. I'll pay. It's my turn." Their quadrant had developed a system where every time they went out as a group, it would be a person's turn to pay. This made it a lot easier for them as they never had to argue about who would pay. The turns went in age order; Jisung, Felix, Sungmin, and then Jeongin.

After they had gotten their orders, they started to fill each other on their days. It seemed to be a wild day for everyone except Jisung. The others had all had an interaction with their crushes. You see, everyone in the quad had a crush ( no matter how much Jisung denied it, his friends wouldn't let him be ). Or at least people they had some sort of interest. These lucky fellows just so happens to be the popular kids. Of course, it was. But anyways, Jisung "liked Lee Minho" (again he disagreed), Jeongin had a crush on Bang Chan, Felix had a weird (as Seungmin would call it) 'obsession' with Seo Changbin and the grumpy Seungmin has somehow formed a liking towards the Hwang Hyunjin.

Today, Jeongin had bumped into " Chan's big, buff, hot, chest" (as he had said it) and fallen. Chan had helped him up and picked up his books for him.

Both Felix and Seungmin partnered up with Seo Changbin and Hwang Hyunjin, respectively for class projects.

Jisung wished he could talk to Lee Minho. But who was he kidding? Lee Minho probably didn't even know that he existed. He was just the background character. No matter I much he told him otherwise.

I am so far loving how the storyline is laid out so far. Today you got a look into Han Jisung's life as a 'background character '.

Also do you folks like the length of the chapters? I'm a sucker for a long chapter book.(⁠・⁠∀⁠・⁠) What about you?
