I was scared to hear the news mom had for us but I sat quietly.
"Girls." My mom started to tear up. "I have cancer."
Suddenly, the world stopped.
My mom, my life, has cancer.
"What?" My twin asked quietly.
I suddenly felt a pain in my heart. I knew she felt it too.
We both ran up and hugged mom.
"Mom." I said quietly. "I love you with all of my heart."
"It's still really early, so I may have time to go through chemo." Mom said playing with my hair.
"You'll still be so beautiful. Mom, I don't care what I have to do to make sure you can live. I'll work after school, on weekends, on break, anything mom. I just need you." I cried.
I knew my twin felt the same thing. But I didn't know it was this bad until her words came out.
"Mom" she said. "I'll give up my study groups to get a job or two and help you out."
"Girls." Mom said. "I love you so much. But don't give up your lives. Just live your life. If I die, I will watch over you."
