Raine's P.O.V.

Eric just holds me... Rocking me back and forth.

(Eric:) "Why did you do it?"

Hmph. Why?

There's the million dollar question.

"Mother is the name for God on the lips and hearts of all children... And I'll never hear Erica say it."

Eric looks at me.

(Eric:) "Erica?"

I sit up and stand.

I walk over to the pictures and grab the ultrasound photo.

I gaze at it...

Who would she have been like?

Me or Eric?

Her eyes? Her hair? Her laugh? Her cry? Her smile or pout?

I feel the anger rising and clench me fist.

"Erica Midnight Draven... Named after her father before her."

I toss the picture into Eric's lap.

"You would've married Shelly regardless. You loved her, and used me. Used me like a fucking toy, quite literal in term. And if I wouldn't have tipped them off, they would've gotten to her anyway. Skank was a lopsided fuck..."

I walk towards the couch and sit.

I find a lighter and a cigarette and fire it up.

"... You never once saw me as anything more than a fuck-buddy. You settled for Shelly, thinking she was your only shot. When she's the one who brought me back to this fucking nightmare! She said she forgives me... Yet, here I am. Reliving this Hell! Stuck in a world without my daughter!"

I pick up a crystal glass and hurl it across the room.

(Eric:) "Raine... I..."

"Save it!" I cut him off.

I huff in angst.

"Say you and Shelly got married? Would you have been in Erica's life? You said Sarah told you I was pregnant... What was your first thought? 'Who's the baby daddy?'"

Eric stands and slowly walks towards me...

(Eric:) "No. I knew that baby was mine. OUR baby. I was doubting my life with Shelly LONG before Sarah told me. The second I heard that I was gonna be a father, my fate was sealed."

I scoff.

"Yeah. Your fate was sealed alright. I got the man I love killed."

Eric grabs my face and looks me dead in the eyes.

(Eric:) "Since the night we created her. I was a damned fool for not seeing it sooner. I love you, Raine."

Eric presses his lips to mine and drags me from the dark, dank abyss I call Hell, straight to Heaven.
