Raine's Point Of View...

I toss and turn as the night air hits my skin, making the cold sweat even colder.

*HELP!!

My chest heaving.

I bolt up in bed and Eric jumps.

SARAH!

(Eric:) "Raine?! What's wrong?"

Eric caresses my shoulder and I turn to him.

SARAH IS IN TROUBLE.

"Sarah..."

That's all I had to say before he got dressed and jumped out the window.

About an hour later, Eric comes through the front door with Sarah and... Officer Albrecht?

Sarah, is passed out in Eric's arms and Officer Albrecht looks at me with a sad and shocked face.

That man practically raised me and has no idea what happened.

(Off. Albrecht:) "Scar?"

I walk up to him and hug him as Eric fires up the fireplace and wraps Sarah in some blankets.

"Yeah, old man. It's me."

Just then, my Crow lands on my shoulder and caws.

Albrecht looks at me with a broken heart.

He shakes his head "No... No."

My crow caws and urges me to give him solace.

I motion to Eric and go to the wall and grab a hundred dollar bill from underneath the gargoyle statue on the fireplace mantle.

"Go get some food... and whiskey. They'll need a place to crash. "

Eric smiles and nods.

I place a quick kiss on his cheek and he's off.

I grab another blanket and head back over to Albrecht.

I hand him the blanket and sit next to him.

"I sent Eric for some food and stuffs for you guys."

He nods.

I take his hand in mine and look him straight in the eye.

"I know you want answers..."

I sigh.

"I was pregnant with Eric's baby. I was gonna tell him the night he... I tipped them off out of jealousy. Shelly cheated on Eric for years, with Skank. I had no idea they'd... About five months later, they found me while Sarah was at school. They beat me, raped me, strung me up like a fucking pinãta... Then buried me in an unmarked grave next to Shelly and Eric. I'm here, to put the wrong things right. Shelly told me Eric needs his soulmate."

I can't go on.

It's too painful.

Albrecht wraps an arm over my shoulder and sighs.

(Off. Albrecht:) "It's okay, kid. At least Sarah is safe."

I laugh.

"Yeah... She is."

Just then Eric returns and hands Albrecht a bag.

Eric pulls me to him and wraps his arms around me.

(Eric:) "It's okay, baby. It's okay."

Moments later, Sarah stirs.

I go kneel by her and gently brush her hair over her ears.

Her eyes flicker open.

(Sarah:) "Raine?"

I smile and nod.

She sits up and hugs me so tight.

(Sarah:) "I knew you'd come back."
