When I open my eyes, I see blue, and I see white. Nothing else.
The ground and the sky, they seem to alternate. Sky, ground, Blue, white. Sky, ground, Skyblue, groundwhite.
I laugh at this. I don’t know why. But everything is funny.
Wait- I pause. This wasn’t… Ground.
I raise my foot gently, and place it down again, to realize what I am really standing on here.
“What the douche,” I gasp, and spin around in multiple circles until I am forced to fall to the ground in a dizzy motion.
This made no sense. No sense whatsoever. In every direction around me, there were clouds and blue sky, and even stars if you craned your neck. There was nothing else. No-one else. I was appalled.
Appalled, appalled. Another hilarious moment for me.
“HELLO?” I scream through unnecessary giggles. Eventually the hilarity fades, and I am faced with tears. “HELLO?!”
Nothing.
Not the drop of a pin. Not a cloud stirs, and I am left there in the middle of who-the-hell-knew, more confused than I had been my whole life.
My whole life…
“Oh, hell no.” And this is where I remember what happened, where the floating and the sirens, the whole deal, come flowing back painfully.
Okay, maybe not flowing. More like, hitting me in the face like golf-ball sized hail.
So I run. I run from my problems. Run away from where I woke up, to wherever this untaken road may bring me.
With every step, I remember another mistake from the day before.
Step.
Why did I float upwards? Why didn’t I just stay? I would be home now, sleeping away the minutes. Living life the way I like it.
Step.
Wait a minute. Suns don’t speak. I’m going crazy, aren’t I?
Ah, to be expected.
Step.
Wait.
My run slows into a jog, and eventually that into an impatient walk.
What happened, and how did I get…Here?
Here, here, here. The word seems to echo in my head.
I stop walking, and peer into the distance.
I see a black dot… I was close enough to tell that it was in fact, human.
“HEY!” I scream out into the distance. The speck doesn’t move, and I begin to doubt whether or not it was just an extremely annoying rock. But, anyways, where have I got to be? So I keep walking.
Within maybe five minutes of walking, I realize I’m not tired. At all. It’s strange, really, as I personally am an out of shape individual. So I pick up the pace in order to get there faster.
Another thing I notice is that the rock/person, is definitely less rock, and more person. I can distinguish a head, and a body sitting on the clouds, cross-legged, looking in my direction.
I’m confused.
Which is really not surprising, considering all of the strange things that have happened.
I draw closer, and closer, and after about 15 minutes of walking towards the figure, I sit down a matter of feet from the man. Somehow, I know that I am supposed to sit with him.
