Hyunjin rested his elbow on his desk, rubbing his temple while bouncing his leg beneath the table in front of him.

He skimmed through the papers Jisung had given him earlier that morning, trying to work through the pile of paper that he'd been assigned.

"Are you alright?"

Hyunjin jumped in surprise, glancing up from the pile of papers to find Chan standing above him, looking down at Hyunjin carefully with a concerned look on his face.

"Yeah.. Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?" Hyunjin responded, waving a hand in front of his face like he was swatting away Chan's concerns.

Chan frowned but didn't press the matter as he placed down a coffee mug on the table between the two of them instead. "Here, drink some coffee. It'll help you wake up." Chan smiled gently at Hyunjin.

Hyunjin took the offered cup gratefully, smiling back at Chan before taking a sip from the mug.

Chan leaned his forearms against the edge of his desk, watching as Hyunjin took another sip from the coffee. "You seemed stressed. Did something happen?" He asked cautiously.

Hyunjin hesitated for a brief second before sighing. "Nothing happened." he insisted.

Chan hummed in response before nodding slowly. "Alright. You're a terrible liar. What happened?" he pressed.

Hyunjin bit his lip before shaking his head. "It's nothing. Just some stuff at work. Nothing too bad, I promise." he said hastily.

Chan narrowed his eyes skeptically. "Okay." he relented.

Hyunjin took another drink from his coffee, letting the warmth of the warm liquid spread throughout his system, calming his nerves.

Chan nodded slowly, glancing down at his watch before looking back at Hyunjin. "I should probably get going. Mr. Han will be back from his meeting soon," he told Hyunjin.

"Ah, okay. Thank you for the coffee and the short talk." Hyunjin thanked, turning his attention back to the papers on the table.

Chan shook his head. "Don't worry about it. I'm sorry I couldn't stay longer."

Hyunjin shrugged his shoulders, picking up one of the documents that he hadn't finished yet. "It's okay, really," he said before flipping it over in his hands. "I understand though. You've been really busy recently." he continued quietly.

Chan nodded. "It really is good seeing you Hyunjin!" he added quickly.

Hyunjin smiled up at him brightly. "You too, hyung. See you around, okay?" he said before standing up from his seat.

"Of course!" Chan answered quickly. "Be careful today," he added before he made his way out of the room.

Hyunjin watched Chan leave towards the elevators before he turned back to the stack of papers on his desk.

He picked up one of them quickly, reading over its contents with a frown.

Jisung ran a hand through his hair, using his other hand to unbutton his suit jacket before hanging it on his chair.

He sat down on his chair, rubbing his forehead with his fingertips for a few moments before straightening up once more and grabbing his glasses from where he'd set them on his desk hours ago.

He glanced at his watch and sighed deeply, sitting back in his chair and stretching his arms upward before massaging the muscles behind his ears.

Suddenly there was a knock on his door before it slid open slowly and Haeun stepped through.

She walked over to his desk, her expression neutral as she peered over it curiously.

Jisung lowered his arm as he stared back at her blankly. "Haeun?" he questioned, sounding confused.

Haeun's expression softened. "Your father planned a dinner tonight." She informed him calmly.

Jisung dropped his arm back to his side as he furrowed his brow slightly at her. "Dinner?" he repeated.

"Yes, he wants to have dinner with you and your date." Haeun clarified patiently.

"My date? I don't have a date." Jisung told her in a quiet tone, not quite sure if she was joking or not.

Haeun frowned slightly. "He said to bring a one." she pointed out.

Jisung leaned forward, resting his elbows on his desk as he rubbed his forehead frustratedly. "Tell him that I'm not going." he sighed, running a hand through his hair and pulling harshly.

"But--"

"Just tell him no Haeun, I can't go," Jisung said irritably.

"I'm sorry sir, but I can't do that," Haeun replied firmly.

Jisung let out a low whine as he dropped his head back against his chair, closing his eyes briefly.

A small smile played on Haeun's lips as she watched him, feeling bad for having to disobey his orders. "Do you.. need anything sir?" she finally asked after several seconds of silence.

"A coffee." Jisung requested. "Black, no sugar," he added. "Oh, and get me Hwang Hyunjin," he added without skipping a beat.

Haeun nodded her head in acknowledgment before turning on her heel and walking back out of his office.

The door clicked closed behind Haeun, and Jisung slumped back in his chair, letting his head fall back against the top of it.
