"What could he possibly want with me?" Akaashi asks, dodging a punch from Kuroo as they sparred downstairs.

"Well, you did save someone's life today so maybe he's drawn to your charm~" Kuroo laughed, ducking as Akaashi sent a kick towards his head.

"Hey! The rule was no kicking!"

"Maybe you deserved that one." Akaashi smirked.

"Is it so hard to believe that he might be attracted to your civilian-self?"

"Yes. Because he believes that I have a boyfriend. Thanks to your stupid logic." Kuroo rolled his eyes, dodging another punch to his left side.

"If it weren't for my 'stupid logic', he might have tried sweeping you off your feet by now. Do you really want that?"

Akaashi scoffed and landed a punch to Kuroo's stomach.

"Gods no. But I also didn't want you sweeping me off my feet either."

"Oh please! You loved it. You had your arms wrapped around my strong, broad shoulders and– Woah!" He barely dodged a blow to his face before cackling at the expression on Akaashi's face.

"I only held on to you because I was scared that you were going to drop me."

"Quit antagonizing him, Kuroo. Let's get back to the topic at hand. Suisei is following Akaashi. You think that he might have a crush on him, but have you not considered that maybe he finds Akaashi a bit familiar?" Kenma asks from his spot on the edge of the mat, eyes never leaving the screen of his switch.

"There's no way. Kotori is a prick and Akaashi Keiji is an absolute angel."

Akaashi used his foot to swipe at Kuroo's feet, promptly knocking him right onto his ass.

"Right. An angel." Kenma mused before turning his attention back to his game.

"That was foul."

"You're being a dick." Akaashi smiled sweetly at Kuroo before pulling off his boxing gloves and taking a seat across from Kenma.

"While that is a possibility, I don't think he knows. He brought me my bag and then helped me save a man, so maybe he's a little curious about me? Plus, I've been wearing my contacts every time I go out and he hasn't gotten particularly close to civilian me aside from grabbing that man. But even then, he wasn't staring into my eyes or anything."

Kenma pursed his lips, smashing a few buttons before letting out a breath and putting the console in his lap.

"I was gonna suggest Kotori going out in the field this Friday, but I'm worried that you're not ready for it–"

"I'm ready. I swear that I–"

"It's been almost a month since you last saw him and I'm sure he's wondering when you're gonna make your next move. If you get back out there, you'll likely face him again. Are you certain that you can do that without him recognizing you? What if you talk and he immediately pieces it together? Akaashi, I'm just making sure that this is something that you're gonna be able to deal with. Kuroo can't join you on this mission because he's needed elsewhere."

"Someone's hosting a retirement party at the bar and I need to be there to charm the old ladies. They always tip me the best." Akaashi looked at Kuroo and shook his head, turning his attention back to Kenma.

"I'm positive that I can handle it." Kenma kept his unsure look on his face to see if Akaashi would give it up but once he saw the resolve in Akaashi's eyes, he sighed.

"Looks like you're going back to work then." He smiled.
