Nyssa
The night was still young as I made my way to the armory shortly after Daniel left my quarters. I walked across the mansion lawn that belonged to our Alpha and pack officers like me and Daniel included. We were the fourth largest pack in the world on the Western coast of this continent. Modern times have changed but not much of our old medieval ways have gone away.
I was strapped up for the hunt as I had my knives strapped around my belt. . As I approached the armory, my eyes laid on the chosen guards that I trained from the moment they entered the Patrol. They were lined up ready to go on a moment's notice.
"Lady Nyssa, thank you for gracing us with your presence. We feared we lost you in the winds to the rogues and had to leave you behind." Raphael said as he had his hands behind his back, without even turning to face me. I could hear the hint of annoyance that he was trying to hide with a joke. He was worried. I glanced at the three guards and saw them flinch at the comment. Touché. I cracked a smirk.
"Oh my dear Raphael, as you well know. I'm not an easy catch." I replied back as I came to stand next to him tugging at my knives. "What's the latest news? Are they still on territory?"
"They're by the borders, we have the scouts vigilantly watching." Raphael turned to look at me with a hardened expression. It didn't give me the best feeling. "Also., the scouts noticed that their eyes are icy blue, instead of pitch black. It's unusual, something we haven't seen before from their kind. We do not think these are regular rogues but then again we live in a world full of monsters." He added.
"Monsters like Percy have no limit. A detail you would want to remember." He stated as he looked me in the eyes with the order, "Take precaution and find out what Percy is up to." Suddenly his eyes spoke volumes to me. I could perfectly understand what he was trying to say. After all, we did have history.
"You know I can make them talk, without doing a lot of damage." I slightly narrowed my eyes while tilting my head. I felt offended that he didn't think I was capable of restraining myself.
"That's not the point. We could be marching into unknown territory with experimental rogues. " He stated firmly. No one could see the expression in his eyes but me. He was worried.
"And I don't need anyone else to find out the truth until we know for certain what he is up to." His voice entered my mind as we blocked everyone out to communicate directly.
"I'm more than capable and you know that. You don't even know half of what I can do." I declared pursing my lips. I'm not one to show much facial expressions but this is Raphael. After all these years, he still affects me. But he knows why I have hate for Percival. I loathe the man beyond compassion.
"I've seen enough Nyssa. Don't lose control or let your hate blind you. We've spent enough time together that I know you too well. We need leverage against the other Alpha's, the Royals and the packs. We need to keep this secret. And that's an order."
I stared at him for another second and nodded my head as if the following conversation didn't happen.
"And what is your command my Alpha?" I replied to him. I stared directly into his eyes then at my chosen guards seeing as they probably noticed our silent conversation. I could tell they were ready to go.
