(Age 7)

"But I wanna be captain!"

"Too bad. You're too dumb to be captain! And short."

I gasp and turn towards him. Crossing my small arms over my chest. "No I'm not!" I pout and try to snatch the ball out of the blue eyed boy hands but he steps back quickly and hides the ball behind his back while glaring at me.

"Do that again and I'll tell coach." He said aggressively. He begins bouncing the ball again.

"Awwe you're gonna tell your daddy. Daddy's boy, daddy's boy." I mock. Our teammates now watching us as the blue eyed boy stopped bouncing the ball and stalk towards me.

He pushes me back and huffs in amusement when I fall and cry out. "You're mean." I sniff, wiping my face as I get back up.

He smiles and grabs the ball off the ground. "You're a crybaby." He laughs. "A huge crybaby."

I shake my head and stomp my foot making my sneakers light up on the sides. "No I'm not!" I yell out, my voice rising making me sound like a squeaky dog toy.

He nods his head. "Yes you are!"

"Nuh uh!"

"Yuh huh!"

I stomp my foot again in anger and try to snatch the ball out of his hands once again. He pulls back and points at my shoes. "Look! Your shoes even light up!" He snorts. "What. Did your mom get those for you? You're such a baby!" He laughs even more.

My face heats up as I feel my anger rising even more. "Yes she did." I state honestly. "AND they're much cooler than your boring grey shoes" I tilt my head sassily.

"Not they're not!" He huffs out. Looking down at his shoes

"Yuh huh!"

"Nuh uh!"

"Yuh huh!"

"Nuh uh!"

"You're so annoying!" He groans out. Suddenly throwing the ball into my stomach making me gasp and hunch over in pain. He grins in triumph and picks up the ball, twirling it around in his hands while turning to walk away.

I watch him in my hunched position. Feeling my face heat up even more I stand up straight and begin to walk towards him. My walk quickly turning into a sprint.

He turns as he hears my steps grow louder. His eyes grow wide when my body collided with his as I tackle him onto the gym floor. I begin to smack my hands anywhere I can touch since he covers his head with his arms.

Gasps can be heard from around the gym and one of our teammates yell for the coach. I continue to smack the blue eyed boy. He catches me off guard when he suddenly punches me in the mouth.

I scream out in pain and he pushes me off him. Quickly he gets ontop of me and starts punching. My arms now covering my head as I try to wiggle out from underneath him.

We continue to fight before the coach busts out of his office and into the gym.

"BOYS!"

His loud yell making us both pause our fight and stand up quickly. I nudge the blue eyed boy away and cross my arms as he mumbles.

We watch in Silent as the coach steps infront of us with a disappointed frown on his face. His eyes showing disproval. "What's going on here."

"He started it!" We both speak out.

We both look at eachother in annoyance. "You started it!" He huffs out.

"Nuh uh." I look at coach and point towards the boy next to me. "He started it coach! He called me dumb and short!" I pout.

He shakes his head. "Is that true?" He ask, looking over at him.

Blue eyes shrugs his shoulders. "If he didn't want to be called that then he should be dumb and short, dad." He says while giving me the side eye.

I gasp and jab my finger into his arm. "No! I'm not dumb!"

"HAH! You admit that you're short!"

I quickly shake my head. "I'm not short!"

"Too late! You already said you was."

"No I didn't!"

"Yes you did."

"No I didn't!"

"Yes you did!"

"No I didn-"

"That's enough."

We both stop and look away from eachother. "Both of you go to the principal."

We both gasp.

"But dad!"

"I don't want too!"

He point towards the doors. "Now. Or I'll call your mother and your parents myself."

"I don't care." The boy besides me said.

"Chase. Now." The coach says. Annoy that his son wouldn't listen.

Throwing his head back and groaning, he slowly walks towards the gym door, his feet dragging against the floor making squeaky noises. I stand with my arms crossed while watching.

"Roan."

I look up at the coach and whine. "I don't want too!" My bottom slip sticking out as I look away from the coach and too the floor.

"Now Roan. I'll call them myself if you don't." he stated. Gesturing towards the door again in annoyance.

My body sags as I glare at the coach before catching up to chase. Knocking my shoulder into his as we leave through the gym doors.

"This is all your fault." I mumbled as we walk through the hallway.

Out of the corner of my eyes I see his roll before shoving me away. "No it's not."

"Yes it is."

"No it's not."

"Yes it is."

"Shut up."

I go quiet once we reach the principals office.

We sit on the chairs outside the door and wait. A chair separated us as we sit in silence. My feet swinging back and forth as his rest on the floor. My lip bleeding from his punch and his right cheek red from my smack that made it through his arm barrier.

The door to the principals office opens at the lady gestures us inside. We step in and sit on separate seats, once again a single chair separates us.

She shuts the door and goes to her seat. She gets out our folders and begins Looking through them.

Seeing that this is our first fight She glanced up at the both us in disapproval before looking back down without saying anything. Shaking her head and writing something down.

She then looks back up while leaning back into her chair sighing, studying us as if she knows this wouldn't be our last fight.

And it wasn't.
